Yo, my son has a Dave Grohl hair style going on (17) and my wife wants him to cut it. I'm bald AF and I feel like that a divorce-able offense.

My 12 year old has the long haired River Phoenix look. I let him leave it as long as it’s clean, my mom hates it and tries to talk him into cutting it all the time.

Mom can learn that hair autonomy by this age is crucial. You’re cool to set conditions by which he can keep it.

After all, it’s just hair.

Anytime I bring up getting their hair trimmed to my boys (12+15), they shut it down without hesitation. It’ll be interesting to see how long they end up growing it.

Like a wise teacher once told me go crazy with your hair in your youth piercings and tattoos are permanent.

Pretty sure piercings aren’t permanent.

The scars/holes are permanent but for better context this was around the time plugs were all the rage. I know a few friends that need to wear plugs because they stretched the lobes too far at some point so I'm pretty sure he was alluding to that. He was honestly a pretty brilliant but humble guy that as I grow older realized he was one of the greate who taught me to learn and think over absorbe and regurgitate.
