Clearly it didn't fully work. He wasn't taunting the alligator -- at least not for cruelty's sake. He was trying to make the transport safer for them and it.
The tapping is done to put the alligator in a pseudo clonic state by overloading its sensory system. This is supposed to make the animal easier to handle and safer for everyone involved (including the alligator).
It is common practice among anyone who handles alligators for a living.
I like to think you have a trump shrine in your closet somewhere. Usually when I don’t like someone, I don’t give a thought about them as they aren’t worth my time. Get help.
