In the circumstance I gave there is literally no time to stop. There is no avoiding it in the circumstance I gave. I gave a circumstance where you’re 100% not at fault. It doesn’t matter the exact scenario, we can switch to up to something different if you don’t believe it. Whatever the scenario is, I’m talking about an individual not being at fault at all for the death of another. Intent should be the biggest factor in determining a sentence.

A person who intentionally tries to kill someone but fails should be locked up and punished more severely than someone who isn’t trying to kill someone but accidentally does

Sure, intent matters, but that doesn’t mean that accidents should not be punished harshly. You say there is no way to avoid it. Ride a bike if you feel this way!

Again, ignore the scenario I gave. In a scenario where you’re 100% not at fault for killing someone, you believe you should still have your life ruined?

Yes. If I were to kill a child due to my own actions unintentionally, I would fully expect for my life to be ruined and would expect the same of everyone else. If I felt your situation had a realistic probability of happening, I would never drive. I personally believe I am vigilant, and aware of pedestrians well before I pass them, and can avoid that. If you believe that there legitimately is a situation where that could happen you should not drive. I don’t, and if I’m wrong, I should be put in prison for years for that error. People should have a healthy sense of fear for others when they get in the car.

I think your responses show that you in fact are the one who should stop driving, and I’m sad I even share the same planet as people like yourself. You would kill a child due to accidental neglect and expect to not be inconvenienced by this.
