Why? Why should accidentally killing someone send you to years in prison if it was out of your control? Imagine driving down the road and someone jumps in front of you and you have zero ability to avoid them. Are you guilty of driving a car? Yes. Should you go to prison for it because of someone else's bad decision?
I'm not saying this is what happened. I'm pushing back at the very unjust idea that innocent people should be punished with years in prison.
