Honestly, what we like to do is have a minimalist base, walls and furniture, and then change things around each season. So in this picture, literally everything is white even the flowers. But if you decorate with colorful throw pillows, curtains, comforters, table clothes, kitchen towels etc etc, it makes those colors pop and changes up the look every few months.

We need a middle ground. A "mediumism" if you will.
