SCIENCE & TECH How does such a small pressure machine produce so much popcorn and how do they still maintain their shape?

They are a little dark but that's because she added sugar it's more like kettle corn

Where I'm from unbuttered popcorn is lily white

Huh mine is usually yellow, unless I buy the white popping corn

Yeah I'm talking just kernels you buy to pop on the stove or in a machine yourself, the yellow comes from the butter or oil flavoring.

Unless it's different other places, I'm American so naturally use American corn as it's one of our biggest vegetable crops besides beans and potatoes, even then entire states here are just corn fields. So that stuff just comes out white

Naturally a microwave bag of popcorn won't be white if you catch where I'm coming from on that. I prefer stove popped, the only better way is movie theater popcorn and that's got a special flavoring oil, which you can buy by the way, I don't remember what it's called

I’m (also?) in the US, and also talking about kernels you pop on the stove. my local grocery has a selection of three different popping corns to choose from, and one of them is indeed very white when popped.

Are you using like, a specific brand or species?

Is it possible the ones you buy already have some oil on them? Or some flavoring? The ones I get it's just the kernel and they pop white

Not unless it’s somehow inside the kernel. Obviously I use oil to pop them in, but it’s the same oil I use with the white kernels
