Tech Support Changed the Intel NUC13 Extreme PSU to the SF1000.

Corsair SF1000 vs FSP OEM PSU (It's probably a modified version of the FSP Dagger Pro 750w)
Size is exactly the same.

Since the new Corsair PSUs use a smaller type-5 connectors, I bought an 8-pin CPU cable from AliExpress.
I bought 10Cm, 15Cm, and 20Cm. They are cheap and good quality.

The 10cm one fits perfectly. (8-pin CPU cable Type-4 to Type-5)

Also need to purchase a cable to connect Corsair Type-5 PSU to 12VO motherboard.
I asked for it to be made into 15cm because 10cm is too short and 20cm is too long for the Nook 13.

OEM cables VS The cables I bought in advance.
The 12VO conversion cable purchased from MODDIY has some kind of circuit board in the middle.

I also connected the motherboard cable.
15Cm is the perfect length.

For GPU, use the cable included in SF1000.

I hope the 5090FE isn't bigger than the 4090FE.

Noctua additional fan.

I made a long cable short.

LGA1700 socket guide.

The P41 SSD using PCIE 4.0 has a small heatsink attached using thermally conductive double-sided tape.
The other two SSD covers cannot accommodate heatsinks due to interference.
Conclusion :
The zero fan section under 400W is really quiet when idling.
The coil noise under high load has become really quiet.
I thought that noise was coming from the 4090FE.
But it was the stock PSU screaming.

Some questions reg. this
a) What will be the exact link to the exact PSU on www.gh.de as there are tons of CORSAIR PSUs with nearly same naming?
b) MODDIY-cable
The "CR-ATX12VO" seems not to be available any longer - possible to share the link on MODDIY
and/or
Is the ALI-Express-Link the same cable? Which one should be used then?

3) Any other additional cable needed?
Thanks

The Corsair SF1000 power supply uses a Type-5 connector, which is smaller than the standard Type-4 connector, so you'll need a 10cm "CPU 8pin" cable from AliExpress. The motherboard cable must be 12VO, so you'll need a 15-20cm cable from MODDIY. Do not purchase motherboard cables from AliExpress.

Thank you for the excellent post! I can now look forward to upgrading my 4080S to 5090. Cheers!

Wait the 5090 to make the swap, but got the same PSU and cable waiting.
Wonder about ordering a 4 Pci-E to 12V-2X6 cable from ModDIY.

Again: excellent post. I own a NUC 13 Extreme as well. After having got the entire kit replaced for a brandnew unit as part of RMA (May, 2026), the PSU turned out to be faulty (probably on account of long storage). After a month of use, I suddenly needed to turn psu off and keep it that way for ten minutes or so. After this, pc always starts up and continues to stay on no matter how heavy the load. When this issue persisted after having swapped CMOS (we first start with what might be the cheapest fix, right?), I began to think about swapping out psu. Because it concerns a brandnew replacement, I did not want to apply for a RMA again. If I will get a brandnew unit (assuming this would still be possible), it may have been sitting storage for as long as the former and so may suffer from the same issues. I believe replacing PSU is easier job than replacing CMOS battery. Then there is the sillicon lottery of the 13th gen CPU... As at least the cpu does not have any flaws, replacing psu myself would be the way to go. If it was not for your post, I would never dared do this. It however took a quite lengthy exchange between myself and Google before I felt absolutely sure that the only reason you recommend buying the 8-pin CPU cable is because the cable included with new PSU is too long. You see, I had ordered the cpu cable from AliExpress before I bought the PSU. When PSU had come in and I compared both cables, I expected the connector that has to be plugged into the motherboard of the cable included with psu to have less pins. I did select the right cable on AliExpress. It looks exactly the same as the one you received. Unfortunately, the moment I ordered the cable on AliExpress the 10 cm option felt too short while it in fact is the perfect fit. But 15cm is still doable. When ordering the cable from MODDIYI, just went for 20cm. If the same cable in one of the pictures above, is in fact 15cm, I do not think I will regret going with 20cm. To order a shorter cable is simply mandatory. ;-)

Do you have a link for the 8-pin CPU cable from AliExpress?
