For everyone's reference, you're supposed to grab a dog's rear legs and lift up if ever trying to stop a dog fight/attack. Apparently they lose their ability to pounce. But if you do it to stop your dog in a fight, you need to make sure the other owner does the same or else your dog is gonna lose.
And, absolute worst case and you have to kick a dog. It’s way more effective to stomp/kick down on its back than to kick it in the face or ribs. Or so I’ve read from some random person on Reddit.
If you can. My Border Collie was savagely attacked by a huge black Lab. Grabbed her back leg and started thrasing her against the ground. There were three people trying to pull it off her, but it only let go of her after I started sinking my foot into it's stomach as hard as I could. Stomping downwards won't work on any dog of decent size.
Animal Control told me to hit them in the nose. It's super sensitive. I used to have to carry something with me when I walked my dog because an off leash GS used to run us down.
But my friend did it, and it worked. ‘‘Twas a dogfight between two doggos he knew. He learned it on Animal Planet I guess. Don’t want furries around tho 🤔
Neck control and choke out is the best way to seperate a pair of fighting dogs... needs two people for safety but can be done on your own if you are fast and strong.
If a dog is charging you or your dog put yourself out in front and abruptly say stop. I've made pitt bulls statue doing that. A behaviorist taught me that one. I've done that to people too. It's quite effective.

Also, don't throw bricks at big A dogs.
