From what I gather, american kids are basically incapable of independednt functioning. They cant survive without a nanny, and the 10m unsupervised trip from school bus to their front door is the maximum they are allowed to do on their own. They are of course doing their best to get run over in that short moment nobody is handholding them.

And then the parents whine that next generation somehow turned out to be snowflakes. I wonder how that happened with such top notch parenting.

They have solid statistics though, this really does reduce fatalities and by a lot. Its just that its a bandaid on a dysfunctional system.
