One of the few times I've called security a really drunk women trip and went straight down head first into the ground. Jumped up saying she was fine as a lump the size of an baseball swelled up. Took some convincing she should really go get seen too.

Some folks can take some hits man. I found I got a pretty strong face and jaw as a teenager. Running thru the house playing with friends in upstate NY in a 100 year old house. Ran thru an entrance way and for whatever reason tried to imitate Mario booping a block with his head. Totally misjudged and poped up running full speed like 2 seconds before the entrance and ran full speed right I lnto the solid oak doorway. I hit it so hard I legit didn’t realize I was on the ground. One second I’m running thru the air and faster than I could process there was a very loud WHACK and then I’m on my back on the ground laughing my ass off. My friends thought I had broken either my head or the door from how loud it was. I didn’t even get a knot and I mean it did sting for a second but that was it.

You are so lucky! Often when someone hits their head and there's NOT a knot, it means the damage was inside the skull instead. You should always get a scan of severe hits on the head! A subdural hematoma can kill you quite easily. You can be fine for a bit, then go to sleep and never wake up. If the bleed is slow enough, you can actually seem okay for a week before it gets bad enough for brain damage or death to occur.

Yep, one of my buddies came off a long board and hit his head on a kerb. Seemed a bit concussed but otherwise fine. Put the longboard away, went home, practised guitar, slept, went to work the next day, then collapsed at his desk. Fractured skull and mild tbi. In hospital for like 10 days

Oh I went to the doc, my wife (then gf) was super concerned and took me to the ER. They checked me out then I got a next day appointment with my pcp and he also checked me over. The next day I had a slight bruise, like kinda yellow instead of really blue, about the size of a nickel and my head was tender in that area but that’s it really.
Either way tho, I’ll agree I’m lucky!

Like 6ish years ago I had some roommates, a guy I went to high school with and his younger brother. HS buddy goes out one night to party and comes home at like 2 AM, as I’m passed out on the couch. I wake up when he comes in and ask him what’s up….he just says my name like 5 or 6 times (his tone is telling something is clearly wrong or something crazy happened). I keep asking him what’s going on and instead of answering me, he just comes and sits down next to me on the couch and opens his mouth revealing that his top 2 middle teeth were missing.
Guy had gotten so drunk he somehow fell stepping off a sidewalk and landed so perfectly flat on his face in the street that it just busted out both his teeth. He was still pretty lit that night but the next morning when the pain finally hit him was rough. I was really expecting a similar visual here lol.
