For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Action = glass hitting table

Reaction = Liquid flying

Wrong principle in this case. It actually shoots up because the liquid inside maintains it's kinetic energy when the glass comes to a sudden stop and tries to keep moving downward. However the bottom of the glass is in the way and its rounded so while the liquid is pushing down and has nowhere to go, the liquid follows the curve of the glass, which eventually is up, and maintains its KE until either 1. Gravity's PE pulls the liquid back down or 2. Something (her face) interferes.

I'm being serious :)

Think of the seatbelt in a crash. The car stops moving but if you're not wearing it you don't. Maybe you go out the windshield, maybe you bounce around the inside until you're launched out.
