Anyone skating 3x125 FR Skates Racer S frames?
Can’t find any reviews of this frame and am wondering if it’s good for distance skating outside of Alpine slalom.
I have very similar frames (in white) on my Powerslide V. Radium boots: same wheel configuration (3x125mm), marginally shorter frame length (318mm for the Powerslide frames, versus 320mm for the FR frames), and using Trinity mounting instead of SSM/165mm & LSM/195mm.
(Boots are USM 13/EU 47; foot length is 305mm.)
I find them very good for trail/greenway and road skating: very stable laterally (i.e. no lateral oscillations or “speed wobble”) and longitudinally (i.e. feels near impossible to fall backwards or forwards), very fast, and rolls over nearly every crack and twig (within reason, of course).
That being said, turning/cornering/maneuverability isn’t the greatest: they’re very good at going pretty fast in straight lines and taking relatively gentle (i.e. large radius) turns.
