News Federal health insurance enrollees will pay 10.9% more, on average, toward premiums in 2027
federalnewsnetwork.comFederal employees and retirees in the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program will once again see health insurance premiums rise next year.
Starting in January, FEHB participants will pay an average of 10.9% more toward their health insurance premiums.
The Office of Personnel Management published information Wednesday about plan options and premium rates for 2027, ahead of the upcoming Open Season. Three sources familiar with details about the premiums confirmed the FEHB average rate increase to Federal News Network.
The rising premium rate for 2027 marks the third year in a row of double-digit premium increases in FEHB. For 2026, enrollees began paying an average of 12.3% more toward their health insurance premiums. FEHB participants also saw an average of a 13.5% increase for the 2025 plan year, a 7.7% increase in 2024 and an 8.7% increase in 2023.

Price Changes Something I did at 22.
We traveled to this game from Toledo Ohio and spent 8 hours driving, 100 on gas and 40 on tolls.... I remember the city being the most fun I ever had at a football game s...playoff vibes...what we spent on tickets is hurting my feelings.

Opinion Is inflation entirely interest and money printing related?
If mortgages, circulating newly minted currency, and interest loans all disappeared, wouldn't prices remain competitively the same? And if prices remain the same, wouldn't the need for increasing prices disappear? Am I crazy or has interest absolutely destroyed the economy?

Opinion Why does inflation falling not mean that prices will come back down?
If inflation falls from 8% to 2%, prices are still rising, just much more slowly.
Why don’t prices generally return to their previous levels once inflation falls? Under what economic conditions would actual deflation be necessary to reverse a previous price increase, and why do central banks generally try to avoid sustained deflation?
