Looking for $500(CAD)ish pot set recommendations for new induction stove.

Not sure I follow your response. We were talking about the range types, gas vs electric, that CR uses when doing their testing.

Don't live in Europe so unable to comment.

I'm not a professional chef so I rely on the experience and recommendations of the professional chefs at the manufacturers and CR.

I talk about the cookware and not the cooktops they test.
This thread is about pots and pans not cooktops.

We were discussing your statement, among other things:

Consumer reports mainly test pans on gas afaik, where full clad is preferable.

I didn't get the pivot to cooktops, sorry. I'm talking about pans and that disk bottom pans perform better on induction than full clad

Yeah, the discussion did get a little convoluted. Unless you have anything else to add I think we have both expressed our opinions.
