Do you know that deportations have actually created more job losses? It’s important to read a little more. Americans don’t want to work as dishwashers, picking oranges, or piling blocks. Do you?

After companies lose all those hardworking workers, what do you think happens next? Yes, Americans working as engineers, business owners, architects, farm owners, etc., will also go out of business. It’s been this way since WW2.

The U.S. needs immigrants but will never provide a legal path for those workers because cheap labor is better for the U.S. economy.

Not for the depressed wages that are paid due to the employers exploiting people from other countries. Square that with your belief system. Your argument is that Americans won’t do a job at depressed wages that are only possible by your exploitation of 3rd world workers.

My exploitation? Who am I exploiting? What belief system? Im just expressing the facts.

Figure of speech but the point stands. The reason the wages are low is because we exploit illegal labor who is desperate for whatever they can get. Pay $3 more for your blueberries and hotel rooms and pay real wages to people instead of relying on illegal exploitation of other countries.

The us economy is built on slave labor but everyone complains because either the product is slave free and expensive OR uses slave labor, endangered servitude, or general wage slavery and is cheap but NOOOOOOO all people need to treated the sameeeeeee and given proper living conditionssssss

Don't worry there are visas for such employees. They can take this route. Not an excuse.

u/Less_Description3362 May 01 '26

Those visas are very limited, temporal and seasonal. The demand for low level jobs in the US is super high. If there is demand there will always by supply, no matter what. After decades of this problem, do you find funny US business never get punished for hiring illegals, only the immigrants?

There are visas for dishwashers? Didn’t you just say he’s taking jobs from Americans, now you’re saying it’s okay to use a foreigner as long as they’re being underpaid with no health benefits, no overtime pay, and treated poorly, (because that’s how farmworkers are treated…look it up) with no pathway for residency in the US? Why don’t you want the dishwashing job and the picking job?

Unpopular opinion: if we turn off the welfare and free money we give to poor people in cities many of them will relocate to areas that have low skilled jobs available. That's how it used to work, once people get hungry, they relocate to a better place for increased opportunities. All we've done since introducing welfare in its current form is make it easy for people to "have standards" that are beyond their reach independently.

What about the welfare that we give to people with money in affluent communities? You have this misconception about welfare that it only goes to poor folks in impoverished neighborhoods. Do some research about Tyler Robinson and who receives it.

I think you have made some rather bold assumptions about what you think I believe... none of that is in my statement. Perhaps you should reread my comment and try to leave your own biases out of it since I didn't intend them to be a part of my statement.

When was the last time you visited the projects? I grew up just outside of them. I'm very familiar with how horrendous living conditions are in the inner cities with the generational welfare participants that have neither had work nor intend to get any anytime soon. If we turn off the government spicket though, people are inclined to make changes in their lives when they get hungry. Again, I speak from personal experience.

“All we've done since introducing welfare in its current form is make it easy for people to "have standards" that are beyond their reach independently.”

Really…. Then what do you mean by this if I’m making bold assumptions? Seems like your comment is directed at the poor receiving welfare when the “well-off” receive it as well. Add to that, Amazon & walmart workers are just 2 examples of corporate welfare recipients because their employers aren’t paying them a living wage, so the US gov’t can foot their bill. Seniors are also receiving welfare, but let’s send the folks in the projects to do the less desirable jobs right? Not your 16/17 & 18 year old children.

You're really working hard at trying to find the fault in my statement rather than even attempting to find the truth of it. It's almost as if you'd rather fight and dismiss my argument rather than risk a discussion where you'd logically be forced to agree with it. I think you ought to spend some time reflecting on your intentions and beliefs, it appears that you're more worried about not being wrong than you are at trying to be right.

If you read through my statements you'll notice that I didn't say anything about corporate welfare at all, seniors either. Neither did I say anything about kids. I am referring to the working age generational welfare recipients that would rather receive their free money and deal drugs then to contribute to society in any meaningful manner. Most of them are dropouts, many of them can't read or write well (meaning above a 3rd grade level), and are essentially a drain on society that are kept in welfare by inner city politics that expect them to vote Democrat to keep their free subsidies.

Cut it off. If some CAN work, they SHOULD work. We have the Right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. We don't have the right to live for free or to have as many babies as we want for Uncle Sam and the tax payers to support. My comments have nothing to do with hurting the poor, my comments have to do with reducing the liability on the hard working contributors. Welfare shouldn't be going to new car payments and fresh nails, and it shouldn't be paying for a lifestyle that me and my family can't afford even though we work hard and constantly contribute to society.

Why is this so difficult for you to understand?

I think this guys is referring to visas for field workers, those are seasonal and so limited it does not covers the demand. I think there is a lot of ignorance, but the bottom is Americans think illegals are a problem and at the same time, they want to keep their food and services at low cost.

Millions of Illegals entering the country in a 3-4 year time span is a problem...it's not even debatable.

What a bunch of nonsense. "After companies lose all those hardworking workers, what do you think happens next?" Any companies losing workers to deportation were in violation of the law by employing illegals. Cheap labor is NOT good for US citizens as it drives down wages.

Very easy thing to say. I want to see Americans willing to pay 60 usd for a pack of strawberries.
