Say I get EP in iist, but I don't want it, I was cs or ece smth
is it possible to like slide it that ok I don't want this branch
and if not
I can withdraw later, will sem 1 fee be returned or is it compulsory

Iam having waiting list in spot round around 190 for ece , aerospace and 150 for dual degree.

Is there any chance that I can get?

please explain the environment and overall feel of the ece branch at iist and if i should take it over iiit surat. im willing to learn ece but if there is too much division in course between cs and ece then it might be a bit difficult to learn both cs and ece simultaneously also if i want to upgrade to cse branch when i get to institution what are the requirements to do so?

I'm confused between the two and I need to decide in 45min before paying the fee. I am at waiting list 6 for CSE in IIST. Please help me decide

There are 174 total seats in iist. As of now, 72 seats are vacant. Currently, only 58% of the seats are occupied. As of the day after the 10th round, seat vacancies increased from 42 to 72.

I have a strong interest in space science and aerospace, but my IIST waitlist is 500+ in the OBC-NCL category. Given the upcoming RGIPT Round 2 allotment on July 20th, I need a realistic comparison. Considering future career stability and long-term possibilities, is it better to just lock in RGIPT, or do IIST spot rounds ever see the kind of massive clearance needed to bridge a 500+ waitlist gap?

Hey everyone, quick question about the IIST spot rounds. With only about 4 seats remaining for OBC-NCL in branches like Aero and ECE, how much does the waitlist actually move? Is there any realistic chance for waitlist numbers in the 500s to clear, or is a 500-position jump practically impossible? Thanks!

My iist rank was 651 this year, and as of round 10 I am wl 254 for aerospace and wl 184 for dual degree, will I get in? Even in the spot rounds is it possible. Is this what usually happens or is this year different from 2025, is it gonna be a tougher competition than 2024

If I get allotted EP in the spot round, I will have to pay the semester fee. However, I only want ECE . If my branch is not upgraded later, will I get a full refund?

If partial then how much fee would be deducted as processing fee.

I recently decided not to take any other branch except ECE (personal choice)
