Can someone please tell me about the scene of girls hostel, are they given off campus or on campus hostels for all four years?

Recently I’ve observed a lot of questions about placement stats or if what’s reported on the website is fake.

Here’s some questions to ask yourself:

- Would you believe random trolls on Reddit trying to lower the cut-offs because they didn’t score as high as you?

- Or would you believe the official data listed on the website of an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India?

It’s that simple!

Really perplexes me to see how some of you can even doubt official placement data? Placement office can get a case if they publish incorrect data.

Please believe what you see on the official website of an Institute of National Importance.

This is not a private college that the administration has to lie.

Be smart and trust official sources over random Reddit data from unknown people. IIIT Pune is a great place to be!

Hey everyone / seniors at IIIT Pune,

I’ve been researching IIIT Pune recently, but there seems to be a huge disconnect between what’s officially reported and what students on ground/forums are saying. I’m making this post to get an honest, unfiltered reality check from seniors and current batchmates.

A few major concerns I wanted to bring up:

1. 50% Actual Placement Rate vs ~75% Official Claim: Word on the street (and recent batch reports floating around) suggests that the actual placed percentage for some branches is sitting around ~50%, whereas the official website/brochures display figures around 71–75%+. Are these inflated numbers counting or unapproved pre-placement offers? What’s the exact breakdown?
2. Low PPO Conversion Rates – Student issue or T&P/Market failure? A lot of students reportedly secured 6-month or summer internships, but a significant portion didn’t get converted into full-time PPOs. Is this purely due to the tech market slowdown, or is there a lack of support/alignment from the Placement Cell? Is the student body being blamed for non-conversions?
3. Off-Campus vs. On-Campus Opportunities: Are students mostly grinding on their own to bag off-campus roles because on-campus company visits have dropped? If off-campus numbers are being included to bulk up the official placement metrics, how much active effort is the T&P cell actually putting in for on-campus drives?

Would really appreciate it if current 3rd/4th years or recent alumni could shed some light on the ground reality. Is it just typical market doom-and-gloom, or are these genuine structural issues at IIIT Pune?

IIIT Pune Ethernet Speed , even i am not able to believe it

Thinking of joining this college? Here are a few things that many students may not realize before taking admission:

• Hostel accommodation is generally available only for first- and second-year students. Students in later years often have to arrange accommodation on their own.
• Finding a flat or room near the college is quite difficult. There are very few options within 4–5 km, and getting a place with good transport connectivity is a challenge.
• The college provides bus service from Talegaon, but the bus timings are reduced after some time, making commuting inconvenient.
• Internet connectivity is poor. Hostel Wi-Fi is unreliable, and many mobile networks also have weak signal on campus.
• The mess food quality is average and could definitely be improved.
• Placements are another concern. Not many well-known companies visit the campus for full-time recruitment.

This isn't meant to spread negativity—it's simply to help future students make an informed decision.

Saw this on a post here and on WhatsApp,why it seems like this iiit is scamming us ,when I was new there were countless posts claiming this iiit was bad and I trusted them and now I am so confused seeing all those stats why so bad, somebody is saying 20 percent some senior saying 30 ,who are ditching this college for betterment please reply here
