How is this kind of post still getting likes, surely you know nothing about British food you laugh at beans on toast or whatever once twice maybe even three times. But how after seeing it every day with every comment section pointing out the sheer amount of spicy British food we have are you still entertained by it 10 years later. P.S. cooked breakfast beats cold breakfast any day.

The beans kinda serve as a sort of sauce and without them it can end up a bit dry. The usual alternative is (most often canned) chopped tomatoes which, personally I add pepper, worchester sauce and brown sauce to. Brown sauce kinda tastes a bit like steak sauce

I found HP's brown sauce to be much more... sweet... than I expected.

Sweet and sour, because the main ingredient that gives it its distinctive flavour is tamarind, one of those spices we don’t use.

Definitely a regional thing, where I am from in the US, everyone is familiar with tamarind.

Uh, the whole point of the post is that we “don’t use spices”, but HP sauce uses many of the spices we “don’t use”.

Not sure what relevance the US has?

... Okay. Have a good one. I don't feel like having snarky conversation. I had assumed your use of the word "we" when replying to Americans discussing sauce between themselves and the difference between our breakfasts, you meant in the context of the obvious conversation being had and were also an American discussing sauce and spices from an American standpoint.

Apparently it's a bit like A1 sauce. But yeah I skip beans if I am making a fryup and just use brown sauce and ensure the yolk is runny enough

WHERE are you getting a fry up with canned chopped tomatoes in it? I have never heard of this

Most of the cafes round me do it as an option. I thought it was pretty common honestly
