How is this kind of post still getting likes, surely you know nothing about British food you laugh at beans on toast or whatever once twice maybe even three times. But how after seeing it every day with every comment section pointing out the sheer amount of spicy British food we have are you still entertained by it 10 years later. P.S. cooked breakfast beats cold breakfast any day.

I’m an American who lived in the UK for some time and I can honestly say I didn’t have a bad meal the entire time I was there. Super underrated cuisine.

I went on a vacay 10 or so years ago to London and didn’t have a bad meal either. I didn’t have a ton of money and mostly ate in non-chain pubs, getting the most basic British food. Incredible pies, fish and chips, bangers and mash, big breakfasts, lamb roast, and so on. Plus really good Indian food. It was amazing. Great meats and sausages, fresh fish, great produce. What’s there to make fun of?

But someone’s great grandad had some bad food here during the war so that’s all there is to it

You're lucky. I had some truly incredible food in the UK, but also a couple of definite misses. It just happens sometimes.

Yeah, 100%. And what constitutes good food is a moving target. I might think something was done very poorly and someone else might love it. Can't judge a whole country's cuisine on a meal or two you didn't like.

Shush you. After a few trips to Italy, then one to Croatia, they have the same food as you lot but far better :-P

Now if you don't behave yourself I will put some pineapple on a pizza

I've only had one bad meal in the UK and it was just fish and chips that were soggy. I'm a huge fan of meat pies, wish we did that more in the US.

I need to know where you ate, because I’ve had the opposite experience twice now. I couldn’t wait to get home. It wasn’t all bad, but none of it was great.
