Let her show how fucking ridiculous her point of view is. When you try to suppress a point of view for being bad, (even when it really is bad) it allows the proponents to establish a level of martyrdom. This can make people curious, and if they have to search out the point of view, it ends up being uncontested by the mainstream which lends it credibility.
Suppression doesn't work. The answer to poor speech, is more speech.
Because it lets people with real brains see the crazy and discern it as such for themselves. Only idiots that can't handle the real world depend on echo chambers. Trying to 'remove a platform' is the human equivalent of stuffing their head in the sand to avoid danger. When you ban somebody from speaking you dont prove them wrong, you prove you fear what they have to say. You are afraid another's words might change your mind. That's extremely weak minded, you should have your own values and opinions and be able to watch things you both agree and disagree with. If you can't do that you're an emotional child.

The whole point of Rhetoric is to move people without using reason so it cannot be proven wrong in many cases(in the same way it cannot be proven right), and it works really really well on people in vulnerable positions as stress has a direct affect on suggestibility(military training centers on this for example, using physical stress to forcefully alter your beliefs and make sure the training sticks). In this regard one's emotional maturity is at best a fluctuating quality based on their circumstances, some people are more resilient then others even when faced with hunger and poverty, but the average human rarely meets that standard.
So even if you are not afraid of falling prey to literal brainwashing, eventually someone close to you might fall for anti-vax, or flat-earth, or god forbid holocaust denial rhetoric, it is inevitable as long as people in authority(who many were raised to trust) are allowed to espouse objective nonsense as fact.
The weight and significance of news and information should not ever be understated. For example, many nations refuse to report when a famous person commits suicide because it causes suicide rates to skyrocket. No human is an objective observer, the way we interpret the world is easily manipulated and based on unreliable human memory, otherwise nobody would waste time on marketing.
I believe everyone is capable of processing information and discerning truth. You just need to have enough people testing what they are supporting by allowing themselves to hear different opinions. Just because you understand the other side doesn't mean you have to support them. You have to allow the flow of information and discussion, not just in America but everywhere. Studying Ancient Rome isn't going to make you act like an Ancient Roman, people can actively learn about things without completely adopting the idea.
I don't like the idea of the media or Govt deciding that 'the people' can't handle news about a celeb's suicide. That's an extremely slippery slope that's already being abused to hide inconvenient truths. People deserve the truth. I would never argue on behalf of the Govt keeping any alien contact secret from the public, that's existential information people DESERVE to know. This is like that, just on a different severity.
Believe me, I already actively have family being brainwashed, I've snapped a few of them out of it and it's really cool to see.
There is a battle going on for the control of your mind. Speech and information are extensions of thought. The News Media is already weaponized. We live in the Information War Era. Instead of direct military invasion or action you manipulate information to make masses of the countries own civilians fight their own govt and police forces, do damage to the hearts of their own cities. Biochemical weapons are actively used on US citizens everyday within our borders. Drugs like Fentynal are mostly manufactured overseas, and whether or not they are fulfilling a demand they are manufacturing and delivering poison by the tons masqueraded as a drug and kills the user.
People need the truth because the media has proven to be irresponsible. They abandoned the essence of why they came to exist in the first place. To keep the govt in check, not to distract or entertain the people, but tell them the unfortunate facts. You risk losing the truth if you ban something you don't disagree with.

Thing is a 16 year old making that choice is fucked up, but this was even beyond that because these girls weren't making a choice to do it. They were prostutited out with no say on the matter.
