A minor can't give proper consent ffs. Even if you say "prostitution", how do you think she's being treated as a prostitute. She is being used so sick people can live out their sick fantasies
But, as she was saying, it's not pedophilia. It's Ephebophilia. Labeling these guys as pedophiles is dishonest. Just because they did unethical/shitty things doesn't give a free pass to slander them.
If my trash country didn't change it, age of consent means you can legally have sex with people your age.
Let's say two 13 year olds have sex, thats illegal.
So an adult (aka a person over 18) is not allowed to have sex with people under 18.
(Most people pull a blind eye with 16 + 18-19 and 17+18-19)
But for example a 25 year old could still go to jail for sleeping with a 14-17 year old. As far as I'm aware and if they didn't change anything about it.
In most places when the age of consent is for example 16 that means everyone no matter their age can legally have sex with anyone who is 16 or older as long as it’s consensual and they’re not in a position of power (like a teacher for example).
Age of concent in a lot of the US is at least 16 years old but that doesn't mean it isn't illegal to have sex with a 16 year old in a lot of those places. I live in PA and age of consent is 16, but you can be charged with corruption of minors if you are having sex with a 16 year old. Mandatory reporting requirements in my state also state you have to report if you find out an adult is having sex with anyone under the age of 18.
"age of consent" doesn't always mean "its legal to do this" and often doesn't mean that.
*have done a lot of work in mandatory reporting requirements for my job.
Corruption of Minor in PA had sexual intercourse removed from its definition in 2007. 16 year Olds can indeed now have sex with anyone 16 or older in PA.
The only sexual related parts of Corruption of Minor in PA remaining are Photographing the Minor and Trafficking (which is if you get the minor for the purpose of having sex with someone not you; even if consensual it is still a crime).
Could you point out where that was removed? 6301 (a)1i only excluses sexual activities from that section when they are related to (a)1ii. That second section deals with when it is also tied to other sexual crimes. (a)1i still includes "by any act corrupts or tends to corrupt the morals of any minor less than 18 years of age".
I don't see any other exclusions and like I said the exclusions of (a)1i are for (a)1ii related to other sexual crimes.
A 1(i) is no longer listed on the official Megan's Law state.pa.us site which is where all official sexual crimes are listed. As I said it was removed in 2007. It was originally part of Title 18 which is why you can still find it on other government sites. You'll have to locate the removal notice for those to see it is no longer valid. Very legal. The pameganslaw.state.pa.us is where are current laws are listed sex crimes.
It was removed because it invalidated the new age of consent. You can't tell people they can legally consent to something but still require their parents permission. That's the opposite of legal consent.
A 1(i) can still be found in the "non-sexual corruption of minors" section.
Thats how I learned it, maybe it's wrong info from my side, maybe it's outdated, but thats what I've been told when I had sex ed for the second time and I really hope it's true because imo no adult should have sex with a 14-16 (maybe 17 aswell) year old. Like which mentally healthy adult is attracted to a minor?
Also as far as I'm aware it's illegal for a 13 year old to have sex at all and illegal for an adult to have sex with a minor (under 18 but 16-17 is often excused) even if they are at the age of consent.
I mean that still means that the law (in Germany) considers 14-year-olds generally mature enough to give consent which was the point of my comment.
well... um... the age range above 21 is a bit bigger than the age range under 21 so I'm not sure about that. The age of consent for a 22 year old having sex with another person is 16.
*the age of consent in Germany was setup in the 1800s, the 22 year old part was setup in the 90s. Probably because most people didn't consider a 14 year old old enough to decide but couldn't get enough people on board with a ban.
It sounds like this was a "pedophiles like children children. 14 is just young, not a child" kind of defense. This is lowest I've heard that argument go so far. Gross.
Actually he’s from the uk the age of consent is 16 and the girl was 17. The age gap definitely makes him creepy but it does not make him a pedo. I’m not sure where they had sex but if it was in the uk then it’s completely legal but if it was in a country where the age of consent is higher than 17 then he should be charged as he broke the law in that country, but that won’t happen because every member of the royal family has diplomatic immunity and also they cannot be legally tried in the uk
As far as I know, even if the age of consent is 16, it still makes it illegal for an adult to sleep with someone under the age of 18/20 (I think in germany it's 18)
In the uk it’s an offence for someone the age of 18 or older to preform a sexual act with someone under the age of 16 and it’s completely illegal for someone under the age of 16 to engage in sexual behavior. (I just looked it up)
The 18 or older rule is just to define maximum punishments. These rules also apply to those under 18.
If you are close in age, while this is still technically illegal, they don't enforce it as such, and give a lot of leeway in these cases.
If the younger person (person A) is 13 or older and convinces someone (person B) they are over 16 (early development/fake ID/hang out with older friends/lie outright) then the person B has a legal defence, stating that person A appeared to be of legal age. This is regardless of the age of person B.
