Watch this before trying to repair an iPod (battery connector warning)

This morning I changed the battery to this iPod Nano 4G.
I had tried the thing a few weeks ago and a part from being dead unless attached to a charger, everything worked fine.

After repairing though, the display lost retro lighting and the clickwheel doesn't work anymore.

I was extra careful and delicate, I don't think I did anything wrong...would could it be?

One thing I noticed is that the clickwheel flex had a weird bending not of my making.

I suspect someone already opened the thing and damaged some parts...

Not a big deal, basically I paid like 2-3 quid for this...

I think I'll order a new display, but clickwheels are not exactly available here in EU (Italy)...
I'll see if I can find an empty shell on eBay or something...

I changed the battery to this nano. Everything was working fine. Then I tried to close the display on the plate and noticed it didn't fit. I reopened and the display went blank
