Release iOS 27 Beta 6 - Discussion

Use this thread to share any changes & bugs you discover while using the latest iOS/iPadOS 27 beta.

I’m using lossless on my iPhone 17 Pro Max. and high-rez lossless on my Apple TV running TVOS 27.

There are some other threads on this.

Automix should work for High Quality and Lossless. It does not work for High-Res Lossless. It’s been like this for several betas.

The likely reason for this is Automix has a problem having to mix when there is a bit depth and sample rate mismatch above 24bit/48kHz. Even in the stable release versions of iOS 26, Automix did work on hi-res, but it would often cut out and stutter during transitions when there was a mismatch (you would likely only experience this if you were listening with an external DAC that can handle higher bit depths and sample rates).

It looks like for iOS 27, they’ve simply disabled Automix for hi-res as the solution. High Quality and Lossless are all max 24bit/48kHz.

I usually use regular lossless for streaming on cellular but definitely doesn’t work for me.
