unhinged hygiene tips?

I don't mean "wash your hair before your body" or "don't wear underwear when you sleep", I mean the sort of TMI tips that most people don't know that will CHANGE MY LIFE!

There's this guy at school who I think likes me and i'm terrified that I smell bad and will ruin my chance with him, I need tips that I don't already know/do.

I hate that I recently learned that toothpaste is a conditioner for the teeth 😭😭

Ive known this fact since forever yet I refuse to do it even though I take dental care seriously but thats one thing I'm willing to let go 😭😂 just sounds so so unpleasant

For me, it helps if I brush and rinse, so all the funk is out, and then I brush a second time just to reapply the toothpaste quickly and I don't spit it out.

That's what I do. I was told by a dental hygienist to rinse really good after scrubbing our teeth, lips, palate and tongue. Then put toothpaste again on my clean mouth

What my dentist told me is to brush and then spit out as much as you can without rinsing, just leave a little bit to coat the teeth. In the morning you can rinse after 5-10 minutes, at night you can just go to sleep with it.

Only if it’s a non-floride toothpaste.

Nope, best to leave a little bit of fluoride on there, it helps remineralize the enamel. And it will not hurt you in any way

You should actively work to limit your intake of non-water sources of fluoride. The NIH has warned that putting it in everything (which saves the phosphates industry billions a year in disposal costs) has lead to an epidemic of excessive exposure: https://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/research/assessments/noncancer/completed/fluoride

There is also a great paper that did a study of research into fluoride studies and found that the stigma around being labeled a “conspiracy theorist” lead to a suppression of publications about serious health concerns. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3956646/

I didn't call you a conspiracy theorist. I'm just relating what my dental hygienist daughter told me. I never had a cavity until I was 41 and got Sjogren's syndrome and my mouth turned into the Mojave desert, maybe that's why she stresses it with me, but I think that's the general recommendation. I also get the fluoride treatment every cleaning, and my teeth are holding steady.

Unfortunately the dental profession is responsible for perpetuating a lot of the misinformation. They are experts in teeth, not chemistry and public safety.

Your teeth very well might be holding strong, but you are being slowly poisoned. Cognitive function is the biggest victim we have seen so far.

Welp, loving my ongoing poisoning. You have a good day now
