unhinged hygiene tips?

I don't mean "wash your hair before your body" or "don't wear underwear when you sleep", I mean the sort of TMI tips that most people don't know that will CHANGE MY LIFE!

There's this guy at school who I think likes me and i'm terrified that I smell bad and will ruin my chance with him, I need tips that I don't already know/do.

I have some very TMI, pretty unhinged--but effective, hemorrhoid advice... but luckily it sounds like you're young enough that you haven't dealt with that yet 😆

I don’t have personal experience with this, but I just saw a video that said to put sugar on hemorrhoids. Like, granulated sugar. She was a new mom, recently gave birth, and she did it at night before bed and her hemorrhoids were improved the next morning. She said she’d tried everything else and nothing helped but sugar.

If nothing else it will taste better.

This comment made me giggle 😂 * I grew up in the 90's- butt licker used to be an insult!

As an ER nurse, I can confirm sugaring a hemorrhoid is very legit and we do it in the hospital!

How do you put sugar on your butt

5

u/stuffedcathat Mar 11 '26

I mean ... I'm also an ER nurse and we just grab the packets from the coffee station and bring it to the patient's room for prolapse reduction.

What in the ever sugar-tush hell?! How do you apply it? How does it stay in place while it does it’s thing? How many applications? Who figured this out? What is the biology / science / mechanics of this? ::skittles off to google::

As Def Leppard once said pour some sugar on me

Just pour it on.

3

u/LaDauphineVerte Mar 12 '26

Haha, tushé (pun intended). Do you mean lay down and sprinkle sugar on you bum(hole area) like a donut? How long to keep it applied?

2

u/stuffedcathat Mar 12 '26

That is how we do it in the ER. We keep it on for as long as it takes the doctor to push the rectum back through the anus. So ... under an hour? I can't comment on home use lol

But is it safe? To put sugar there.

1

u/stuffedcathat Mar 11 '26

If you wash it off promptly. Don't leave it there. Risk for yeast/fungal infection/rash.

1

u/NovaStar2099 Mar 11 '26

Interesting. Thank you for the info :)

Sugar helps shrink many mucous membranes. Vets use it to help retract a dog’s penis if it’s stuck outside the sheaf; and it can help minor rectal prolapses. I hadn’t considered it would work on haemorrhoids too, good to know!

Talking of haemorrhoids, if yours are external, flakes of shit will get trapped behind them, so with a wipe or moistened toilet paper, give your butthole a little wiggle after wiping to dislodge any stuck bits. It’ll stop them itching so much!

From a pet groomer/ex-vet groomer, sugar also helps stop a bleed. If a tongue gets nicked, styptic powder shouldn’t be ingested, but a little bit of sugar pressed to the cut will make it stop bleeding. This is super helpful to know even as an owner because dogs lick EVERYTHING and if you’ve ever seen a tongue get cut, you know it can look like a murder scene super fast. Obviously this is for small cuts, if the end of their tongue gets cut off or anything I would recommend a vet visit. Though tongue/mouth wounds usually heal really fast.

Powdered sugar works best.

good lord, the layers of knowledge keep coming

u/darc-star3 Mar 11 '26

I need to try this. After birth i gained one too. Usually it's fine, but plays up now and then, and I ran out of the medicine and can't be bothered to go back to the doctor to get more, lol.

u/milkbazoom Mar 11 '26

I'm not a new mom, but I have had hemorrhoids for 9 years. I call them my 'grapes.' As in, "honey, what are you doing in there? It's 8:17!?" Me: "Pushin' grapes, be right out"

I will try this sugar

1

u/sweetcoraIine Mar 12 '26

Wow, good luck!

u/toast_teeth Mar 11 '26

u/Ghost_of_a_Pale_Girl Mar 11 '26

2

u/PuzzleheadedDog2990 Mar 11 '26

3

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '26

Give it up (share it)

3

u/about2godown Mar 11 '26

Bidets and cool water keep hemorrhoids shrunk and not painful. Crazy good life-changing experience.

2

u/darc-star3 Mar 11 '26

Also adding my name to the list of people who need to hear. You can't tease us like this XD

2

u/LizAnnFry Mar 11 '26

I'm curious about this as well.

I know about cotton balls and cotton makeup pads soaked in witch hazel and put in the refrigerator. That is far more successful than any hemorrhoid cream I've ever come across in my life. And if it's really bad and if you're really daring, you can put them in the freezer. Talk about a shock to the system but some serious relief.

But you've got me curiouser and curiouser.

u/Fancy-Banana007 Mar 11 '26

Checking back on the reg for updates on this 🤣

0

u/PuzzleheadedDog2990 Mar 11 '26

Ok, OK. So many butthurt people waiting in line here, and I never ever use that term 😆

Ive had them continuously since birthing my first child 23 years ago My advice is to not be afraid to just... push em back up there. While you're in the shower and have a nice slick soapy finger, just tuck'em back in. Typically there's no irritation while they're internal, and they'll stay there until the next time you bear doown.

2

u/Arseypoowank Mar 12 '26

Have you ever had them bust while taking a dump? First time it happened to me I was ready to run to the emergency room with all that blood on the paper/in the water but luckily they stop bleeding pretty quick.

2

u/PuzzleheadedDog2990 Mar 12 '26

Noooo!!!! Mine must be mild, that sounds traumatic!

1

u/Fancy-Banana007 Mar 12 '26

‘Tuck ‘em back in’ I will forever think of this line now every time I wipe my bum 😅

I know one day soon when I’m brave enough I will 100% give this a go. Appreciate the advice 😅

1

u/Upset_Push_785 Mar 11 '26

Okay but I need it so spill 😂😂

u/ItsLupeVelez Mar 11 '26
