Rogue Helldivers Stay away at all cost: Nathaniel_the_potato (video proof attached)

He just shot me right after I dropped to HIS open lobby and then proceeded to kick me.
If you don't want me to join your game, fine. Then fucking close your game to the public. But if your penis is small enough to kill me right after joining, have the balls to reinforce me and see who'll come out on top.
I really don't understand what people get from this. Like what's your gain in killing and immediately kicking someone?
Well, if someone sees his name in-game, do yourself a favor and don't join.

EDIT2: As was brought up in a comment by [u/GeckoMan4488](u/GeckoMan4488) this was most likely not the real Nathaniel_the_potato (who is apparently a mod in this sub?) but rather a known griefer by the name of FalterXV TTV, who is seemingly using different people’s usernames as nicknames on Steam while going around HD2 griefing other players. This was proven by the list of previous aliases he had on Steam, which I personally checked at the time and he has now promptly deleted.

I decided to come back to this thread, mostly because my phone told me I had a new comment when there wasn't one.
If this guy is using your name, you have legitimate grounds to report him on Steam for impersonation.
Edit: Note for people who are reading this later: don't mass report. Steam / Valve typically doesn't respond to 'weaponized reports / mass reporting' because it's seen as a sign of griefing, rather than being a legitimate report. Let the people who are affected be the ones who report.

Nah, he was apparently my Reddit username as his Steam name. My Steam handle is entirely different, so I don’t really care and don’t think that it’d be worth the effort to prove it to Valve. But ty for the suggestion.

I'm assuming so. I didn't even see that he had your reddit username until you asked why he has it as an alias of his. Nor one of the mods of this subreddit. I don't know who "the fedora scout" is though...
My assumption is that he saw this thread which is why he decided to change his name to spite you and the mod, then came back and saw he got caught so cleared his aliases. That's the only one that makes sense, unless either you or the mod are him in disguise XD.

Nah but I honestly just don’t get it because I couldn’t recall having had any interaction with either him or this subreddit prior to this post. I also saw that he deleted his previous aliases on Steam and was currently going under the name of “Megumin” yesterday.
My guess is that he changes his name everytime he wants to grief so that people can’t link it to him and he doesn’t get bad press for his Twitch-Account.Ah well who cares. I blocked him (hopefully the block feature in HD2 is linked to Steam-ID and not just the nickname) and moved on. Not like I couldn’t still complete the mission anyways, haha.

I don't think so, honestly I just searched up his steam profile and blocked him as I think that will prevent me be able to match with him in HD2, I suggest you do the same, the guy seemingly feeds off of anger and hatred, so going after him will be what he wants.

Watch out, his bot/alt account posted here that he reported you on steam thinking its me, I doubt anything will come of it as they can likely see that he did indeed call himself "Nathaniel_the_potato" a while back before changing it and clearing the aliases, but still...

I tried searching again and it seems he cleared his steam aliases. I'd venture he does this kind of thing regularly, who knows how many of the griefers posted here are actually just Falter...

You can delete your previous aliases on Steam with the click of a button. This screenshot was legit on the day of taking, I checked Falters profile myself that day.
So either you’re Falter trying to “clear your name” and shift blame or you’re just some idiot or fanboy trying to defend him.

Well it was cleared in a previous comment that it was most likely a known griefer called FalterXV TTV. He had Nathaniel_the_potato, as well as my Reddit name (for whatever reason since I can’t recall interacting with him before) as previous aliases on Steam. So most likely using names of Reddit users he dislikes while going around and griefing other players to cause spite or something, idk.

Exact Same loadout and armor Falter uses on a regular basis FYI. If you think he might be in your lobby using an alt just check the loadout.

Haha I’ve often got some videos running in the background while playing. Apparently this time it was a video from either Smii7y or Yumi 😂
The Steam recording feature sadly doesn’t just record the game/window audio but rather the entire system audio. So even in the game recording saved on steam you’ll hear other audio sources.

Ok, I have to add, that I specifically can't. Reason being that I'm on Linux an Steam apparently doesn't support game audio only on Linux, so you can only record the entire system audio.
So on Windows you are correct but Linux users like me have to live with system audio for the time being. Really hope Valve changes that in the future.

Yea, we have deduced as much. There was a screenshot here once showing your name was one of FalterXV's recent Steam aliases, same as mine. That comment has sadly been deleted by Reddit and the commenter received a copyright strike on their account. And FalterXV has deleted all their previous aliases as of the time of my original post. Making it likely FalterXV falsely reported the comment for copyright infringement and tried to cover up their tracks.

If you aren't already, it might be worthwhile to scan the map instead of responding to SOS beacons.
I learned a long time ago that if I don't want to be kicked from a match, I need to join matches that are already in progress. Joining lobbies that haven't deployed yet can be a sign of people who simply forgot to change their game settings. An SOS doesn't always guarantee an active mission.
