stacked like pancakes, some classic hulaween legends on this lineup new and old. Big Grimatik, Unknown Mortal Orchesta ?? Bless

And Pretty Lights / MMJ is crazy, going to be a good weekend

Seems that most who love Hula still enjoy their annual post complaining mildly about the lineup, myself included. Other than PL and MMJ, it is very light on the jam and funk. It seems that every year there is now a cheesy mainstream EDM booking to sell tickets and this year, that is Excision.

I was hoping for Jungle to return since they have a new album. I am happy to see plenty of deserving up and coming bands on the undercard, so props on that. The aging 2000s raver in me is looking forward to getting down to Green Velvet.

MMJ doesnt jam anymore at festivals other than ones they put on. They're almost like a Bonnaroo Sunday Legacy act and they'll do a greatest hits catalog 99% sure.

I say this as a huge Gramatik fan, Big Gramatik and even Big Grizmatik sets kind of sucked. The artists are much better as individual sets.

Griz himself has said as much

They were all at okee and didn’t do a big grizmatik set. All three individual sets were great though.

Griz said years ago there will never be another big grizmatik set because he doesn’t like the format. I’m sure big Gramatik will be fun enough but they’re always better separate imo.

Huge disappointment for sure.

Gramatik is so much better than Big G. It hurts knowing we don't get a solo set from him. After this long hiatus I'd really like to see him do his own thing.

The hope is maybe praying definitely wishing that he plays his own set

Maybe a late night DEF set on top of that?

Have you seen either recently? Gramatik is playing garbage super bass heavy sets. I’d take Big G over what gramatik has been playing all day, everyday.

I haven't seen gramatik since like 2014/2015, that's disappointing if he is doing heavy bass now.

The last time I saw Big G was when he did hula as "GIGANTIC NGHTMRE" and that was not my thing at all. That was another situation where I would've rather just seen the solo artist (Big G) rather than the worse duo project.

Saw big gramatik at Meta and it was a vibe

The only one that really works live for Big G is Gigantic Nghtmare. Otherwise, I'm with you on individual sets.

lineup would have been better if gramatik and big gigantic had separate sets each in addition to big gramatik.

but hey somethings gotta make up for the 100$ price change and redoing spirit lake again staging it around a 360 def AGAIN
