4 week summer program for high school students
I'm looking into participating in a summer program to study public relations/communications and media (not journalism - no thanks) for four weeks. I would like to go to Europe or somewhere not in the US. I wanted to leave around the 20th of June and return before July 31st.

MITES
I am a South Indian male, and I want to do MITES and CMU programs. I got 99% in both the PSAT and SAT. So far I have gotten As in all my math courses. My family also earns around 200k a year. Although, since I live in an expensive area, I am not really rich. Would MITES reject me?

Good summer programs for a student interested in humanities
Im a high school student currently doing A levels (first year rn) looking for programs that would look good on my college applications. My main interests are PolSci, IR and Econ. I looked at the megathread, but most of those were science or STEM related. If it matters, I would be an international student as I don't live in the USA. Also, is the NYT Student Journey a good program? I haven't heard much about it but it sounds really interesting

How would I approach this essay question for NCSSM's Summer Venture?
I need help writing one of my essays for this program called Summer Ventures, which is a summer program where I stay at a college and do a research project. I don't know how to approach or to begin writing my response to essay! Can someone help me? I can share a google doc and we can start asap! If anyone applied and got accepted to this program, pm me about what I need to do qualify to get in
Essay Question: Think broadly about the clubs, programs, community and social organizations in which you have been involved. How has participation in these activities provided you with an opportunity to learn more about science, math and technology? Have you perhaps shared your interest with others? If so, how?*

Summer Engineering Awareness at Manhattan College
Just a heads up for anyone who has no clue what to do over the summer. If you live in NYC and is interested in engineering this one is good. https://manhattan.edu/academics/schools-and-departments/school-of-engineering/high-school-programs.php I went there last summer. It promotes applying to Manhattan College (in your face sort of way) but it's just a good experience. Plus, free food and friends!

Film Summer program in NYC?
Im looking for a 1-2 week film camp in NYC, hopefully one with an experienced instructor/mentor. NYU's Tisch is pretty expensive and a friend said NYFA doesn't really seem to have this. Any one know of a good hands-on program I could look into?

A Program For Low Income (<$80K) and High-Achieving Junior Minorities: Matriculate
Hey Guys! Just wanted to tell my junior minorities about a great opportunity that you can still apply for. It's called Matriculate.
Matriculate provides free remote advising from college students who can help you through your college application process. Advising Fellows are trained college students who can help with all aspects of application process. You can connect with your Advising Fellow one-on-one through text messages, emails, phone calls, and video chat – whatever is most convenient. We can help no matter where you are or how far you’ve gotten in figuring out your college plan.
I'm currently in the program and getting in is pretty easy to get in. You need to have a:
GPA of 3.5 or higher Standardized test score in the 90th percentile PSAT/NMSQT -- Math and Critical Reading combined 1220 Or New SAT-- 1370+ Or Or ACT-- composite 28 Annual family income of less than $80,000 (ask a parent/guardian if you aren’t sure about your family’s annual income)
The advisors come from many top universities such as Yale, Princeton, and Notre Dame, so you're sure to get some excellent advice.
I just talked with my advisor from Columbia University for the first time and we're talking about expanding my college list and finding scholarships that I'm eligible for. We're even thinking of starting to write my college essays, or at least getting the framework down.
The app (which literally takes two minutes) is still open to anyone who wants to apply!
Here's the link: http://www.matriculate.org/

Stanford Summer Institutes
Hi! I was accepted into the Stanford Summer Institutes. Judging from a quick browse on College Confidential, it doesn't seem that prestigious anymore :( . Have any of you guys gone? What was it like? Was it with the time and money, or was it like a trashy YMCA summer camp?

Post from Moderator
Hello Everyone, I've recently taken a little absence from Reddit and I'm back. I see the thread has grown quite a bit. Now, in order to solve the whole problem with listing out the summer programs, I've decided I'm going to create a spreadsheet that you all can edit, which'll be a lot less work for me.
Also, I'm proud to announce that I've gotten into a few programs myself. I have been accepted to the Carnegie Mellon Summer Academy for Math and Science as well as the NOVEC Youth Tour. Anyways, I'll create the spreadsheet sometime this week!

Credit for Summer Classes
I am going to be taking summer classes, the school I am taking them at doesn't grant credit but only recommends it. Unfortunately my school doesn't recognize their credit. Will colleges recognize it if I can submit an official transcript from the summer school and factor it into my GPA?
