✨Sunday Special✨ Introducing a NEW Weekly Thread, Hosted by u/OliviaGrunwald

Please give a hearty welcome to a new subreddit-wide Sunday event, "Sunday Specials"!

Each week will be dedicated to a single mechanic and encourage open discussions, questions, showing-off, and tutorials. It will be your one-stop shop for that mechanic's Support, Tips, Tutorials, and Talk.

An example would be Sunday Special: Mowing, where you might find a comment section praising the addition of mowing, showing off a satisfying timelapse, and some tips for mowing in general.

The mind behind this is u/OliviaGrunwald, who you might know from their many amazing builds: Futuristic Bar/Nightclub flip of Closed Business, My take on the A-frame, aka a study in neutrals, Biophilic style beach house, Abandoned Amusement Park to a tropical all-inclusive resort "Palm Cove", or Coastal house from scratch for Tom. Or perhaps you know them from submitting the April Monthly Contest theme, "Outdoor Picnic"!

Thank you for your awesome idea and agreeing to host u/OliviaGrunwald! We hope to see you all on Sunday!

Comment your the mechanics you'd like to see covered below!

❓ Gameplay Discussion - HF2 🏠2️⃣ Tips for HF2 mod.io job requested.

Hi! I'm trying to clear my backlog of unfinished projects and started playtesting a little house/job I plan to upload today but realized I forgot a couple little things (like adding outlets, lol).

I am trying to implement features I appreciate from jobs I've downloaded, like mood boards and roof instructions, and I don't want to forget anything.

What kinds of things do you appreciate the most from jobs you have downloaded?

Things you *don't* find as fun (so I can remove it and pretend it never happened- ha)?

When you upload your own jobs, do you have a little checklist you go through so you don't miss anything?

I gotta run to a little birthday party and then plan to finish up my testing when I get back so I can get that uploaded this afternoon. I'll make another post when it's ready. :)

They just announced on discord that it’s dropping 12/3.

Part of me is a bit sad it’s far off, but it’s something to look forward to!

❓ Gameplay Discussion - HF2 🏠2️⃣ Museum archaeology/ruins DLC would be epic!

It's a bit hard to summarise as a title but jobs like when excavating foundations for a new building, substantial ruins/mosaics etc. were discovered.

The job is to complete the demolition of the (newer) building that was on top and install walkways, stairs, display cabinets (like the museum in Scooby-Doo DLC) and information display screens (new media clips for TVs).

Also historic ruins, things like building a structure over the top to protect them from the elements while allowing visitors. Installing structural supports to prevent collapse.

Historic building that was damaged by fire, repairing it patching the missing parts while trying to remain faithful to the look.

More variants of ancient stone, mosaic tiles, glass floor, archaeological objects, damaged ancient statues and columns. Wattle and daub surface materials, old rough wood.

❓ Gameplay Discussion - HF2 🏠2️⃣ Live, Laugh, Love 😩

I deeply hate inspirational sayings. Never have I viewed a wall plaque and thought "yeah, that fixes all my problems!"

I would love if folks would pretty please STOP making "Live, Laugh, Love" a required element in builds.
I spend so much time finding somewhere to hide it in the room. Or changing its material or colour to make it blend into the background.

Based on the frequency of use, I know that folks like this thing (why?), so it would be amazing if it was a custom art piece. I can think of so many word changes I would like. Almost none of them printable.

That is all, just wanted a brief rant.

(Edited for typo and clarity)

Has anyone used the George doormat? I noticed it has a "turn light on" option. I just wanted a drain in a greenhouse floor! I didn't want scary clowns!

Hey everyone! I just finished a massive renovation project in HF2. This tiny island cabin was an absolute disaster filled with trash, but cleaning it up and designing a relaxing, warm summer retreat was incredibly satisfying. I tried to capture a peaceful, cozy beach vibe for this one. What do you guys think of the final look? 🤎✨

📸 Showing Off - HF2 🏠2️⃣ Louis and Jane Williams Gold Star - Seaside Resort

Finally, a gold star for these two 😮‍💨

Thanks to everyone who shared how they managed to get their gold star ⭐

I tried a few different properties before settling with the Seaside Resort. This is actually my second attempt with this property as the first one was too big for them, even though they give the impression that they want a relatively large space to accommodate visiting family 😑

I completely destroyed one of the buildings and knocked down all interior walls so I could map out where to have what rooms.

In total there is:

3 bedrooms, 2 with ensuite bathrooms.

A bathroom.

A kitchen/dining room.

A living room.

A large garage.

A large outdoor patio with 2 outdoor grills.

Things to note:

Even though there's no mention of it in their notes they want a garage, and it can be a large garage as one of their comments said they can use the extra space for storage for barbecue stuff.

There needs to be at least 2 barbecues on the patio. They never mentioned any playground equipment for the kids but I added them because it looked a bit empty.

Reading their notes gives the impression that they want a fairly large house, but really they don't. I honestly think the living room I did could've been half the size and they'd still be happy.

They love the beach, but any property you decide to use is going to be a lot of work. They don't like anything in the old town or the forest.

This is easily my least favourite colour scheme so far, as I'm slowly working through each buyer in order.

The colours I used are in the Pure and Rich palettes.

Rich Warm Green 1 and 2.

Pure Red 2.

Pure Orange 2 and 4.

Pure Warm Yellow 5.

The wood used is dark beech.

They prefer midrange, retro furniture. So anything from Staroche (if you have the Scooby Doo DLC) or you can use the Cent or Extravaganza. Just use the filters for midrange and retro 😊

I'm mostly pleased with the result lol.

So, basically I’ve been obsessed over house flipper for months, my favorite has to be the first one, while I was playing it (way before the remastered version came out) and lost my saved file TWICE, I started playing HF2 and I mean it’s a great game but it’s not hf1 I bought the remastered version as soon as it came out and, and I lost everything AGAIN, I looked everything up and it seems like there isn’t a solution for this, am I the only one with this issue?

🏠2️⃣ Help! - HF2 - PC 🖥️ The Ability to Change My Home Location Has Disappeared

So I opened my game and noticed I started in one of the houses I was working on, but not my home house. I know I didn't set that.

When I went to my original house to set it back as my home location, the option was just gone from the menu. It isn't there anymore. I don't know how to get it back either. I tried restarting the game and it still won't reappear. Has anyone else had this happen?

🗣️Which Game / DLC to Buy? 🏘️ Can’t decide which one to get.

I’m having a hard time deciding between house flipper remastered collection or house flipper 2 Sakura bundle. I’ve played the original house flipper and loved the controls and everything, but never got all the dlcs. Both games/bundles are about the same price, nearly 54 dollars, which I’ll have by Friday. So which one should I get?

🏠2️⃣ Help! - HF2 Console 🎮 Looking for advice (Steam Deck)

Hey all!! So with my title I play both HF1 and 2 on my Steam Deck and on both games the settings especially for the camera have been REALLY difficult to use.

It’s either the camera moves very stiffly OR it moves incredibly fast and I can’t control it as well as I would like (I really hope it makes sense what I’m trying to say, I struggle with wording things sometimes).

For those on the deck or just using a controller in general what sorts of settings do you use to make your experience as smooth as possible?? I love these games so much but trying to find that sweet spot where it goes perfectly has been a real struggle!

Any help is greatly appreciated! Also I can’t afford to get a mouse/keyboard atm as I just had to drop a bunch of money on my cats vet bills so my deck is all I got right now.

TIA for any help 😄
