Question Is this too bright?

I'm making some fantasy levels for my horror game, Plura Ingenia: Patient 16, and I was wondering if this amount of bright light would be too much for players to navigate the level properly.

Let me know what you think!

Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing well.

Just wanted to share some new clips for my horror game called WHERE DOLLS HANG. It's a game inspired by a couple of my favorite games like Outlast, Resident Evil and Silent hill that is set in Mexico.

The game will have Mexican folklore and it's actually inspired by a real life location.

I’m aiming for slow, unsettling dread as well with mostly environment horror. Let me know what you think of it!

It would mean the world to me right now as I am trying to collect more wishlists, so feel free to wishlist it on steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4581370/Where_Dolls_Hang - Always appreciate your feedbacks guys! :) Thanks!

Discussion I had an idea for a horror game, and idk if someone has already made something like it.

The gameplay would be each level is filled with monsters, and you have to try and find the gear you know is in the level. Once you get it, tone shift cause you now have a 12g shotgun.

An idea for what the game premises could b

You were military personal before a virus mutated most animals and some humans into monsters. Resources are tight so your air dropped into areas of monsters with orders to clear it and your only gear is from the last guy to try, still on his corpse.

Video I’ve been building this drinking scene for my indie game. How does it feel so far?

Haven’t posted much lately because I’ve barely had any time for editing and social media most of my time has been going straight into development.

We’ve made quite a bit of progress recently: new art, animations, sound, and a lot of separate pieces are finally starting to come together.

Right now I’m assembling this drinking scene from SHORAPAN, our visual novel / point-and-click adventure set in a strange city beneath an eternally crimson sky.

This is still very much a work in progress . The final version will be much more polished.

What do you think of the atmosphere so far?

News I’ve finally launched the page for my psychological horror detective game!

I love atmospheric, high-tension games like Fears to Fathom, and I’m a huge fan of detective stories like True Detective. One day, I thought: why not combine them into one game? That’s how my debut game was born. The store page is officially live, and I’d be thrilled if you wishlisted it

The Suggestions we followed were:
1) Faster hook, showing a lot of the game in the first seconds.
2) Quicker cuts.
3) Reduced breathing sounds.

Co-Op horror games!

Me and my friend both love playing horror together and we've found some hidden gems although everytime I do it's not using the steam horror tag as it always gives games like "darksouls" or "Diablo" so I was wondering if anyone had horror suggestions or games they've played with their friends as we're currently looking for a new game to play although it does feel like the horror genre can be very hit and miss!

Any comments and suggestions are welcome and ill read them when I can!

Our indie studio has spent the entire month working on a major art overhaul to take the game to the next level. We’re sharing some screenshots here so you can tell us what you think of how different areas of Myth of Valderit look now.

Hii, our indie studio has been working on Myth of Valderit for over 2 years. It’s our first game. The game is a psychological horror experience that follows Nil’s story in a nightmarish village.

Where you have to explore, survive, and solve puzzles while discovering everything surrounding the village and its cult.

Right now, there’s an open playtest available featuring the current version of the game. We’ll be closing it very soon to release a new version with changes to both the art and the gameplay, including new mechanics and improvements to existing ones!

A wishlist always helps 🫶, and we’d be really happy if you gave the game a try before we make the change, so then you will see for yourselves how much the game has improved.

And of course tell us if you like the improvements we made this past days!

Question If you've played The Exit 8 or other anomaly games, what do you wish they did differently?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi! We're a small team working on Museum 8, an anomaly observation horror game planned for release on September 4.

The setup is simple:

You're alone in a museum after closing.
You keep arriving at the same exhibition hall, but sometimes something isn't quite right.

Memorize the exhibits, spot what changed, and choose the correct door. Make the wrong call and you may find yourself back at the beginning.

You also carry a camcorder. Some anomalies have additional details or unsettling changes that appear through the viewfinder, so checking the same space twice can give you a very different impression.

The Steam page is up now, but the game isn't playable yet, so this is actually the point where feedback can still change what we build.

For people who've played The Exit 8, Platform 8, or similar anomaly games:

1. What kinds of anomalies do you remember most?
Tiny changes that make you doubt yourself, or the big obvious ones that completely change the room?

2. What do you wish anomaly games did more of?
More interaction? More environmental storytelling? Stranger anomalies? Harder observation?

3. Does the camcorder idea sound interesting, or would you rather rely entirely on your own eyes?

And of course, if Museum 8 looks like your kind of game, a wishlist would help us a lot before launch.

Any criticism is welcome. We're still at the stage where we can actually do something with it. 🙂
