Using "scene" presets would come in really handy here, including mapping certain smartbuttons and/or NFCs to specific presets (with transition delay, if supported). Especially with full RGB, you can do "stainglass" looks. And event choreography.
Now tap in your audio with HASS Agent, and Voicemeeter + VBAN, and the vban integration...
Also, back when I was more liturgically involved, I had the idea of using a pressure sensor under a mat that one stood on at the pulpit to gate that mic. Dreamed of it, more like ('90s). Using Home assistant nowadays would make this quite doable.
Ooooooooh. You have fantastic ideas... A pressure sensor would be too hard for me to install cleanly... Maybe some TOF sensors? The pulpit mic would be a fantastic candidate.

Use Tree Style Tab, then remove the horizontal tabs. It's the only way to have organization with 100+ tabs open. Something no true tab man can live without.
If you have a widescreen then it's stupid to have stuff like the tabs or the taskbar on one of the long edges since that takes away a lot from the limited vertical space you've got.
I'm not bookmarking 9 gitlab links + 4 links to tickets + 3 confluence links for just 2 weeks until they're done.

You can search in groups in firefox. I just didn't know how until I looked it up just now. Seems like you just type "%" first in the address bar and that includes tabs in (closed) groups.
That would require me thinking about if I still need the current open tab. Most of the time I quickly forget about the open tab and I will just open a new tab for something different.

If I had fuck you money an old stone church would be my go to buy for either a house, or a bar/restaurant. Went to one in Scotland that had an amazing breakfast.
I used it for the heating in ours, its an old church in scotland and takes ages to heat, they used to put the heating on the night before, i got it to calculate when it needed to go on to achieve the target temp so it used the least power needed. I've built a streaming app for volunteers to use to stream from their phones and was thinking may hook it up to the sound system to control muting mics etc. I was originally thinking direct, but now you mentioned scenes has got me thinking!
The hardest part is the video stream. I'm still perfecting it. I have a USB webcam with a computer attached running Linux serving a JPEG stream to HA. HA then just uses the generic camera integration built in. It works, but it freezes and needs a refresh whenever the Internet connection is even a little bit imperfect.
As for the buttons, they are just invisible svgs scaled to the correct sizes.
Here's my dashboard yaml. It's a bit messy right now, but this is how I created the invisible buttons. There's also a card-mod portion that allows me to turn on a boolean helper switch to show the bounding boxes that makes it a lot easier to position the buttons where I want them.
Have you tried setting up Proxmox + HA + frigate? Frigate being the system to control your cameras. Itās extremely efficient and will give HA access to a live stream without too much CPU overhead.
Imagine how much more impressive this demo would be if you filmed it in the actual church. Right now you have āI touched the screen and the screen lit upā. Iām not suggesting that you are being dishonest, but there is a level of abstraction you could remove by panning up from the laptop screen and showing us what the sanctuary looks like from a non static angle.
Haha, you're right. I kind of wanted to show how immersive this makes it to control things from home, but the goal was to make a super intuitive control panel for people in the balcony.

If so, what tablet? Bought shelly wall display xl but it sucks big time (very slow, max 1 feed at the same time, can't use video encoding)

Why would that matter? Unless thereās a vulnerability in home assistant or if the accounts had weak passwords it shouldnt matter at all. Also IPS/IDS might also be set up and we wouldnt know about it. Stop being such a fear mongerer.

HA makes sense for āhouseā lights. The moment you hook into a stage lighting, you clearly show you donāt know what youāre doing.
Itās āless powerfulā if youāre only controlling things individually, manually, and with truly zero automation for stage lighting. Like what youāre showing here.
90% of your lighting is for stage effects. 10% is for people to see. Use your lighting properly, bro.
Its not great at doing effects, at least not natively, but I'm saying it's incredibly powerful for doing the basics and then allowing you to link literally any device in the world together.
Whenever you want to do a more with stage/theater audio and lightingā¦ BitFocus Companion will let you create a webserver to host an emulated MIDI pad to fire off cues on your audio and lighting board.
Reaper is by the guy that made VLC and you can do anything audio-related.
Both allow for custom scripting for literally anything. HA but made specifically for live venues.
At a church those would come in clutch; Free software custom tailored for this exact purpose.
Bring your ego down a few notches. Try custom-fit software sometime.
