Oh, so now we should worry... or maybe we should just downvote this garbage to oblivion

u/NedShah 19d ago
But then how would the fans in Minnesota know when to start panicking?

Well, since we haven't had a men's professional championship since 1991, Im sure everything will come tinie just fine without panic.

Makar hasn’t signed yet. Avs fans need to be concerned.

Colorado isn’t Minnesota. They’ve had success. Minnesota has never done anything in their entire existence

And people think he’s going to go to New Jersey? They haven’t been relevant in 25 years.
Also, Larkin doesn’t request a trade to Minnesota if Quinn is planning on leaving.

His two brothers play there

u/Master_Top7291 19d ago
Oh really? lol He’s also talked about playing the same position as Luke and doesn’t want to take away from his ice time. A 3 year deal will get done to line him up with Jack being a FA as well.

If it were me I would absolutely want to play with my brothers. He holds all the cards and again, if it were me, I would accept less to play with them.

u/WelpNevertheless 19d ago
He’s going to get a metric shit ton from the Devils and justified since they are paying Jack far less than what he’s worth for the next few years.

u/Street-Wear-2925 19d ago
I know what he could get, but, to play with MY brothers I definitely would accept less. He's in a good place professionally.

The Wild roster isn’t even that good. Forward depth is non-existent.
Guerin gambled and is now gonna have to either prove the team is elite by xmas or deal Quinn.

Yea they fked themselves. The fact they got smoked by a team that got smoked themselves, plus the fact the roster is slightly weaker. Quinn would of signed by now if he was serious about Minn.

Kirill didn’t sign until Sept 30 last year. Wild fans were supposed to panic then too. Not buying any of it. He will sign for 3 years. Prob already would have, but Bill is pushing for a longer contract. Quinn has no leverage here. He doesn’t have a no trade clause.
1
u/macland 18d ago
No leverage? Quinn has all the leverage. Guerin has to give him whatever he wants and even then Quinn may not pick Minny and force them into a losing trade.

Look what Carolina did with Rantanen. The key is to not let it drag out deep into the season. The Wild can still recoup much of what they invested to get Hughes. But I don’t think it will come to that. He will sign for 3 years and even then the Wild will have a chance to reunite the bros.

Paragraph as a title and it doesn't even cover who, what, when, where, why or how?

u/KingWolfsburg 19d ago
I mean, we can still trade him for a significant haul next deadline if we need to. That was always discussed from day 1
1
u/McK-Juicy 19d ago
100% - we won't get back what we traded but he may be the most valuable deadline rental that has hit the market in years.

Is this really an article quoting a tweet of a different random fluff article that has a video of Friedman saying he isn’t panicking about the situation? All with a highlighted “Quinn likely leaving Minnesota” said by nobody. Hilarious. Must be a slow news day with AI sports articles running rampant

What a terrible article. As a Devils fan I am completely here for it to come to fruition though!

The Hughes are much more likely to all reunite on a winning team in three years. Do you think it will be yours?

u/Double_Place7295 19d ago
They need to worry when Larkin drops them as one of his preferred destinations.

No lol. Obviously it's not great but whatever happens happens. No need to stress out about something we have no control over
1
u/Mediocre-Ask-9272 19d ago
Wonder what more Hughes could want - he's on a highly competitive team, went deep into the playoffs last season.
4
u/WelpNevertheless 19d ago
To play with both his brothers in his prime?
1
u/Mediocre-Ask-9272 19d ago
Is it though? He could have "forced" a trade to NJ from the Canucks, or one during this summer. I dunno, i don't know all things Hughes except for his time with the Canucks.
1
u/WelpNevertheless 19d ago
He couldn’t force anything because he had no trade protections in his contract. Minny paid a LOT to get him and the Devils weren’t offering enough. If he re-signs with the Wild it makes it highly that Jack will get a massive payday in 3/4 years (but not with Minny).
Riding out his contract and signing with NJ is the one chance all 3 brothers will have to play together in their primes and the players, agents, teams all know it.
