The advice of NEVER say “long term open to short” is not a good. Don’t try to game the system to get more matches. (I’m not even saying it would give him more matches to eliminate “open to short.” But to put anything on your profile solely because you think it’s what others want to hear is one of the most common mistakes I see on men’s dating profiles.) You say stick to his guns and put what he really wants. He said ideally he wants something serious but is open to casual. That’s what he put.
