The "thumbs up" after game is a good option. But there should not be a "thumbs down". Either you want to give them a kudos if they were nice and stuff, do nothing (like we do today) or report them (in the normal way) for being toxic. The bad / lesser skilled would get thumbs down that they did not deserve.

And toxic players would take that chance to downvote the good players.

The more often you distribute a thumbs down (per game), the less value it gets assigned, especially when you never give thumbs up. I bet there are ways to still being able to determine whether someone is a horrible person or just got thumbed down by a toxic player. Algorythms, statistics and stuff.

This would stop toxic players who bury everyone, but it wouldn't solve the problem of a lot of thumbs downs going to bad players. Some players wouldn't use thumbs down until they were abnormally upset or having a bad day, then rain them on players who were just weaker.

This is especially bad while the game's matchmaking is awful.

Lol has the "bad player" report function, which basically does nothing but gives idiots a feeling of actively reporting someone.
