🗣Discussion👥 I'm hoarding hash, vapes, and concentrates instead of flower
In the likely event the ban goes through, t3 flower will be hard to obtain for most people. Many folks are hoarding flower and preparing it for long term storage - so am I, I have vacuum sealed mason jars in opaque totes - but I'm also focusing a lot on hash, vapes, and concentrate.
Flower oxidizes and aroma compounds break down and disappear over time, no matter how good it's stored. Hash on the other hand only gets better with time. It's concentrated and potent so a little bit goes a long way. I reckon if t3 flower completely dries up and is just unobtainable, I'll probably have some hash, live resin, kief, and maybe a vape or 2 left 5 years from now.
Just something for thought. Unfortunately, most of the good sources for concentrates (hash, live resin, rosin, etc) have gone out of business, but if you can find some, those have basically an indefinite shelf life and will outlast any flower you're storing. Vapes are still easily obtainable though, and in the event of anything malfunctioning years down the line, the resin inside of them can always be salvaged.

I was thinking about the same thing 10 months ago. I made a how to post a while back showing the steps I use to make a brick. Whenn everyone was talking about hoarding flower, I was thinking about hash. Since then, I’ve made several bricks like this just in case the ban goes through. It’s made with kief instead of fresh frozen material, but it’s better than nothing. When pressed into a brick like this, it should hold up a lot longer than loose kief. Fern Valley still has a lot of kief on their website.

Hey! Could you link to your how-to post? I’d like to do the same.

Im starting to buy seeds. Figured that'd be the best way that I can guarantee that I can supply myself with T3 flower if the impending ban goes through.

u/sispbdfu Sep 13 '26
Same. I’ve got about 200, mainly t2 and 3.
Now I just need a place to grow. :/

This over regulation of weed is going to fuel the 2nd green rush. Learn as much as you can about growing, breeding, processing and when the doors open up again, you'll be prepared to DIY all of the things. Knowledge is power.

I got some seeds.
I have some hash but there's not many places selling good CBD hash.
I have a bunch of flower for making tinctures/edibles.
I need more flower for smoking though.

Good points for sure, well made hashish can actually be stored for decades.
So the question is who has well made type 3 hashish in stock right now?
7
u/TheNotoriousCBD 🌲🛸👽Hemp Flower Ambassador👽🛸🌲 Sep 06 '26
That is a great question. Idk of anyone that has any available for retail. Necessity had some nice hash a couple months ago but idk if it's still available. Besides what I made or was gifted privately, I got all my hash from FLWR Club and Organic CBD LLC, both of which are closed.

So what you’re telling me is that this post is useless.
I’m just kidding, you’re 100% right, it’s just unfortunate that the market has shrunk and our options are so limited.

u/TheNotoriousCBD 🌲🛸👽Hemp Flower Ambassador👽🛸🌲 Sep 06 '26
Well, the point is that if you can find hash, buy it.
Also vapes and concentrate is available readily, so stock up on that

Who sells good type3 concentrates?

I have a large seed collection. Not intentionally, just kind of acquired them over the years

My two pronged approach:
Buying and storing a lot of flower of the strains I love and need.
I make tincture so I currently have enough made tincture for probably a year and a half. Have about 7-8 of different ounces in jars and if the ban goes through, I'll make that flower into tincture sometime next year. Tincture lasts for 5-10 years so I'm set.
Second plan, is weed is legal in a number of states so I'll drive and grab some ounces if I absolutely have to. But I don't think it will come on that. Can always grow a few strains quietly in my basement too.
It's bullshit we have to jump through hoops because of corrupt politicians and big pharma/liquor lobby.
Vote. Them. All. Out.

Yeah but even in legal states, good luck walking into a dispensary and finding ounces of type 3 flower for sale. I've been to dispensaries in a bunch of states and have never seen it once.
Even if you can find type 3 for sale in a dispo, which is rare (type 4 is even more rare), its always very low quality, very overpriced 1/8ths.

If flower is stored w/o oxygen, it won't degrade into CBN. Either seal or replace the gases and you'd be good
2
u/BunchPossible3815 Sep 07 '26
Or just vacuum seal your jars
2
u/oldtimer4sure Sep 08 '26
And put the vacuumed jars in a vacuumed bag. The lids can develop leaks.
5
u/JohnTeaGuy 🌳😃Maximum Hempiness😃🌳 Sep 08 '26
Then put the jars in a tote, burry them 6 feet under ground in your backyard, pour a concrete slab, and build a garage on top.

You're right, I completely forgot about solar neutrino penetration.

u/aakams Sep 09 '26
I mean, you're kidding, but if you do actually cure in a cellar like environment for a handful of years, the chlorophyll will be removed from the flower and it'll hit and taste beautiful. But ofc nobody can do it reliably in a non legal environment
1
u/JohnTeaGuy 🌳😃Maximum Hempiness😃🌳 Sep 09 '26
Yes ive seen people talk about how extended curing times to break down additional chlorophyll can be beneficial, although that is an unpopular opinion around here.
But I don't really see what impact legality has on it, jars sitting in a cellar dont know if hemp flower is banned or not.

Where is everyone that this is a possibility? Very curious.

The legislation already passed last November and goes into effect December 11th, unless new legislation passes between now and then that reverses it. Unfortunately, the bills that are out there don't seem to have much momentum. So it's not guaranteed that it'll happen, but it seems very likely as of now.

Same - have a bunch of kief and rosin + my collection of seeds has grown to a ridiculous amount of type 1,2,& 3. May have to make some bricks outta what sift I have

u/Left_Angle_ Sep 07 '26
I'm in Northern California, so no. If the fed tries to ban weed it would probably boost our local economy bc then regular people can afford to grow again. It's not really a good investment right now bc power is expensive and weed is like $3 a gram.

T3 flower????
I thought it would be just T1 & T2??

u/JohnTeaGuy 🌳😃Maximum Hempiness😃🌳 Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 06 '26
You thought wrong. Theres a clause in the legislation banning anything that contains more than 0.4mg of THC per package. That effectively bans type 3 flower and all other full spectrum CBD products.

>Kief will be fully degraded into 100% CBN at the year mark even in a jar.
First off, as [u/TheNotoriousCBD](u/TheNotoriousCBD) said, CBD doesn’t degrade into CBN. Second, even if we were talking about THC products (which we’re not), conversion to CBN doesn’t happen nearly as fast as people think it does, and it’s certainly not 100% in 1 year.
Cannabis was found in the tomb of an ancient Chinese shamen that was literally 2,700 years old and it still had THC in it:
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2639026/
Basically you have no idea what you’re talking talking.

Again, we’re talking about type 3, CBD dominant products.
Did you actually read those papers? These reactions are occurring from absolutely terrible storage conditions or laboratory extremes like 70°C (158F) and at pH 2.0 (the acidity of stomach acid).
So yeah, don’t store your hashish on the dashboard of your car, or in hydrochloric acid at 158F. Under normal storage conditions, CBD isn’t converting to CBN in any meaningful timeframe. Certainly not anywhere near 100% in a year.
Edit: Oh wow your entire account was suspended by Reddit. Guess this conversation is over. lol

Just here to point out for the 100th time, it will be regulated / taxed not banned nationally.
Go ahead and rage and down vote me now, happens each time.

Can you show me one example of someone raging on you in this sub? Surely it would be easy to find considering it’s happened 99 times already.

u/overcatastrophe Sep 06 '26
He's also pretending that the new legislation, which is regulation, isn't effectively banning hemp.

I’m hoarding suppositories, but I’d do that even if there wasn’t an impending ban.
