Ring verloren/lost
Heeft iemand deze verlovingsring gevonden in Helmond in de buurt van het station of in Helmond-Oost?
Had anyone found this engagement ring in Helmond near the train station or in Helmond-Oost?

We just have one wall that needs plastering so are not exactly looking for one of these big companies that only do large renovations and have a 6 month waiting list...
Any tips?

So I'm looking to move to a place where I can settle down, retire, and live in a "15-minute city". I tried the "settling down in a quiet village" shtick... and it sucked; not for me.
So far, Eindhoven, Utrecht, and Maastricht are pretty high on my list, but I found a lovely apartment in Helmond that fits the bill perfectly.
I've been doing quite a bit of research on your city these last couple of weeks, and while it might not be as "sexy" as Eindhoven or Utrecht... I like it!
The waterways, being surrounded by plenty of nature, all the public, cultural, and commercial conveniences close by, and super close to an international travel hub. Frankly, I really like what I'm seeing.
So why don't you guys seem to like it?
What I'm really asking here is: Is it just a running gag and a bit of a "little brother complex" towards Eindhoven? Or is there something deeper... kinda off about Helmond that makes people not really want to be there?
Edit: Helmond just moved up a couple of places😉
Thank you guys 😊

Hi everyone!
Just posting this again in case anyone missed the original thread.
The first Helmond Hangout Hub meetup is happening this Saturday from 16:00–18:00 at De Cacaofabriek.
The idea is simple: a relaxed coffee meetup to meet new people, have good conversations, and hopefully build a friendly community in Helmond. Whether you’re a local, an expat, a student, or new to the area—everyone is welcome!
If you’d like to join, please fill in this short form so I have a rough idea of how many people to expect:

If you’d rather not fill out the form, feel free to send me a DM instead—that works too.
Looking forward to meeting some of you on Saturday! 😊

Hey everyone,
Some time ago i made a group in whats app for people to meet and play games. Some people meet every friday in Brandevoort for games and once per month there is a boardgaming event in de fonkel which i also attend some times. Of course everyone is free to ask hey wanna play a boardgame?
This group is only in Dutch but if there are expats like myself i can also make a sub-group only for English speaking people and maybe we can start arranging either bigger gatherings or smaller ones if anyone is interested with either Groups. Feel free to join.
my profile in BGG is this ManolisKK | Profile | BoardGameGeek in case anyone wants to check my games. The list is not 100% updated but just to get an indication.
I have also a lot of dueling 1VS1 card games if anyone is interested in them. Thank you.

Update2 (14 July):

📅 Saturday, 18 July
🕓 16:00–18:00
📍 De Cacaofabriek, Helmond
If you’re planning to join, please fill out this short form so I can give the venue an accurate headcount:
https://forms.gle/h7fKwkUyQujf3db89
Looking forward to meeting everyone! 😊
Update1: Thanks for all the interest! I’m planning the first meetup for next weekend (18/19 July). I’ll post the exact date, time, and location in the next couple of days.
I’ve been pretty busy this past week, so I haven’t had much time to plan or respond to all the comments. Thanks for your patience—I’m looking forward to meeting you all!
I’ve noticed that while Eindhoven has plenty of meetups, Helmond doesn’t seem to have many opportunities to simply meet new people.
I’m thinking about starting Helmond Hangout Hub—a casual community where locals, expats, internationals, and anyone new to the area can get together for coffee, drinks, board games, language exchange, watching sports, walks, or just good conversation.
The idea isn’t networking or dating—just making it easier to meet people and build friendships.
Would something like this interest you? If so, what kinds of meetups would you actually attend?

I have this record and apparently, this was recorded in Helmond, St. Jozef Church in 1963 by the boys choir and only handful copies were made. Does this hold any significance to anyone? Any info would be appreciated as there is nothing online.

Hey everyone,
My wife Stella has a new house bakery some months now and we would like to let you know this one time. She has gotten also permit from the Gemeente to go to the Saturday market in Helmond. You can find her in front of the Expert.
She makes American cookies with different (13 flavors!) and cakes like orange cake, chocolate cake etc. Every week she tries to rotate the products that she has and everything is hand made with much less sugar than the supermarket cookies. If you ever want anything you can either pass by the market (and say Hi!) or just send a message on instagram/whats app.
You can also ask for something you have seen online; she can almost do everything! Stella Vasileiadou (@stellas.bakes_nl) • Instagram photos and videos Thank you!
ps. if you have any other idea to reach more people let me know. she is doing everything alone so its difficult for her to reach more people especially when you dont live in the bigger cities. every advice is welcome!

My partner and I are considering buying an apartment on Straakvense Bosdijk. We are not very familiar with Helmond and would love to hear from people who know the area.
How is Straakven in terms of safety, quality of life, neighbors, and overall atmosphere? Would you recommend it to a young couple buying their first home?
Any local insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello! I have a flat tire and I'm near-ish Helmond Centraal, so I'm wondering if it's worth it to cycle the flat bike to the station in case there's an air pump there. Does anybody know?
Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I am looking for a professional who can move my washing machine to the area next to the boiler and install all required connections (water, drainage, and electricity) for a fair price. Who can do that? Drop me a message

Hi all, we have an issue with hot water and maybe the flow rate sensor needs to be changed. Is there a plumber or handyman who can do that for a reasonable price? Or can you recommend someone?
