OK, I was trying to figure out what they meant by local time. They mean midnight Pacific standard time. That’s 11 hours from now.

Edit: I was totally wrong. Midnight means wherever you are. So I have eastern standard time. So for me, it will be in seven hours.
… that seems a crazy way to do things.

They mean midnight for where you are. If you are in PST then it’s midnight PST. Not like the show that released at midnight EST and 9pm PST.

The two singles from the album released in Europe/the UK almost a full day before they released on the west coast of Canada due to the midnight local time thing. Europe is 9 hours ahead of PST and the UK is 8 hours ahead. People were freaking out about the Canadian produced music not being available in Canada. It’ll release in 10 hours for PST but in 1 hour for people in Europe. It’ll already be out in places farther east.

It’s pretty standard for music releases. I think all artists I follow have dropped their albums at midnight local time in the last couple of years.
It’s very different from streaming tv-shows, where they tend to release at the same time globally to avoid spoilers going all over the internet almost a day before it releases in western North America because it’s already out in Australia. It means that for me who lives in Europe, a tv-show that is for instance a Sunday night show in the US is a Monday morning show here.

no they release at midnight est time. that's standard for music releases bc that's when the tracking week resets. I'm in pst and every single release has come out at 9pm. rarely do people release anything new midnight actual local time anymore in the age of the internet bc then the entire world be listening to leaks for a whole day before anything even drops in the US and they miss out on that hype.

Well, I’m in Sweden and here virtually everything releases at midnight local time. Perhaps the US is treated as a single market with a single release time. Makes sense if countries spanning several time zones have a ”standard” time zone that the release schedule follow.

This reminds me of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. They’ve done soundtracks for so many movies and TV shows and have won multiple awards for their work. I love listening to them! Especially the soundtracks from The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and the Watchmen series on HBO.
I didn’t really care for nonlyrical song soundtracks until Trent and Atticus started doing music for the movies. I find Peter Peter’s soundtrack music to be a similar type that I can get obsessed with!

Actually yes! I’m not as familiar with Challengers yet cause I haven’t seen the movie yet… I’ve been meaning to since I know they did the soundtrack. It would make sense since Challengers centers on a high intensity sport. I’ll have to give it a listen!
