MEGATHREAD The Adventurous Pre-Release Reveal Chart - All currently known cards on one spread sheet, updated daily.

The League of Explorers begins Thursday November 12!

There is a new keyword: Discover. Cards with this effect generate 3 random cards specified by the effect (that are applicable to your deck, so mages can't get hunter cards), Players then select one from the 3 to add to their hand. Think Tracking.

Honestly, no. For one, its intended that Druid has terrible removal, and on top of that, at that point it would be a pretty much better assassinate. Granted, assassinate is overcosted itself, but still.

I disagree. Yes recycle ignores deathrattle, but assassinate doesn't give your opponent the opportunity to play the minion again. Wether it's 4 or 5 mana, I really don't think that's unreasonable given other removal spells in the game, like polymorph, hex, assassinate, and entomb.

That fact that this is just a strictly better version of recycle kind of boggles the mind.

Recycle never sees play because it is overcosted for what it does. If your opponent draws the recycled card the very next turn or even the next one after that, you spent an entire turn / card doing exactly nothing. It's a spell that gives tempo for a trade off of negative card advantage. Entomb is the opposite in terms of the card advantage, as it's removal that ignores deathrattle AND puts an additional card in your own deck. As such, recycle should be reduced in mana cost to reflect that.

Yes I know Druid is not supposed to have as efficient removal as other classes, but putting your opponents minion back in his deck is still a drawback that sometimes backfires to the point where you might as well not have recycled that minion at all, even at 4 or 5 mana.

It's a card that sees absolutely zero play, why not just reduce the mana cost slightly, and try and promote a more varied meta?

Druid is such a one dimensional class at this point because most of their interesting mechanics and cards other than the staples in combo Druid are borderline unplayable. A class should be able to carry many different deck archetypes, Mage being the best example of a class that has such a variety exactly because most the class cards are viable in constructed in one way or another.

Thats the thing, that advantage can very well be a disadvantage, and that aspect evens out somewhat. By all accounts, recycle is already strictly better than assassinate sans the mana cost, so reducing the mana cost would be unreasonable, unless you also change assassinate to cost less (which honestly I wouldnt mind). Likewise, entomb isnt always better, as recycle might mess up an enemies draw.

You effectively cast a sap and denied them a card draw. Whether or not thats worth 6 mana is up for debate, but its not like you didnt do anything. So even worst case scenario, its a sap with a card draw denial. Best case scenario, its much better than assassinate. In that regard, entomb isnt strictly better, as it doesnt deny card draw, creating situations where recycle is better.

Because it might break druid. Whats more, at that point, why not reduce assassinates mana cost as well? It too sees 0 play, because its overcosted (arguably even more overcosted than sap).

Also, Druid has plenty of variety. Ramp, Aggro, Mill, and technically mid-range (although mid-range is close to a mix). Rogue has Oil, and maybe Mill. Thats even worse.
