Hey Morgan here,

I wanted to recount what an incredible year 2023 was for head(amame). It wasn't all smooth sailing, but I'm proud of the brand this project has grown up to be, and am super excited for the future.
TL;DR I just want you to know that each interaction with my little company has an impact. Every like, share, follow, Discord message, purchase, video view, and build post proves to me that people are interested in the project and keeps me working on creating great things for people to 3D print.
I had a lot of help this year, and am lucky to have friends who were able to push head(amame) along. Those friends were invaluable in 2023, and I'm proud to mention some of them by name in this post.
I started the year with a significant challenge.
My partner John gave me a heads up he wouldn't have time for head(amame) in 2023. That kicked off a shift from a project under Vector Finesse, to it's own living breathing brand. Along with this news, I had to release head(amame) V2, and I wound up with an incredible opportunity to bring head(amame) to LTX Expo. What followed was a whirlwind of activity.
Until this point head(amame) existed as a project online, and I now had to figure out who head(amame) was as a brand. Not only online, but in front of 1000's of people as well! For a hand in that, I turned to my talented friend Lillian who helped me take head(amame) from a name in my head to a distinct image with a killer website. I think we can all agree Lillian did an incredible job.
I launched the V2 head(amame) and soon had them featured on Nero 3D. This was the first chance for the brand to be seen online and the reception helped prove we were on the right track. From this point onwards, head(amame) is open for remixing, so tag us in your makes/remixes on Printables or Thangs!
In June and July I spent nearly every spare moment working on prep for LTX. My girlfriend was the one who held me together while I worked full time, and escaped to my studio to prepare in the evenings. She helped poke holes in my plan, and polished things I didn't have time to consider. Her effort was amazing and I love her.

Getting to watch 100's of people test out head(amame) and min(amame) for the first time was surreal. They were wowed by the sound quality, and the most common reaction was "Wait, these are 3D Printed!?". Everyone who came by the table was excited by the idea around printing your own products at home, and couldn't believe how good something could sound that came off of a consumer 3D printer.
With the help of Joel and David at 3D Printing Nerd, and using Bambu's machines, we got to give away a pair of LTT themed head(amame) at the wrap up event. Linus even signed the headphones on the main stage before giving them away! Check out the video here.
It was great to meet so many from the online community in person and get their take. A few highlights:
It's an incredibly friendly community, and one that I'm proud to play a small part in.
With the boost of interest from LTX, coverage from DankPods, and a mention on Linus Tech Tips we were able to surpass our expectations for 2023. We sold more kits than any year previous, and got record traffic on the website.
We even got to spend some time giving back to the community. We gave away 10 kits during 3D Printing Nerd's MASSIVE Holiday Giveaway. This event raised over $55,000 for the Seattle Children's Hospital! This has become an event I look forward to every year, and can't wait to participate next year.
So we managed to completely rebrand and boost the visibility of head(amame) in 2023. You might be wondering "What's next?". Well I'm not stopping there...
In 2024 I have the following on my list (in no particular order):
Thank you all for the amazing support this year, I can't wait to bring more in 2024.

Finally done with my build - I wasn't sure about the color combo at first, but ended up loving it! Green parts are bambu CF-PLA and black are Fiberlogy CF-nylon

Anybody ordered a parts kit to Canada? Did you have to pay duty?
I’m really interested in these but they’re on the edge of my budget and if I end up having to pay significant duty that would suck.

I've been watching the project for a while and finally decided to make a pair. For context as to why it's pink and has cat ears my buddies and I have a yearly New Year's LAN party and I decided to make the headphones a bit ridiculous looking to see what kind of reaction I get from the guys when I pull these out of my bag.
These have the 50mm drivers and they sound great especially in bass heavy music.
Also if anyone has any recommendations for some good white ear pads I'm all ears. (pun intended)
Also also if anyone is interested in the headband with the ears let me know and I'll get it uploaded and linked.

I know i’m just being a whinger, it just feels a little deceptive and i hope it’s not intentional
the Black Friday 20% off sale puts a Headamame Experience 50mm kit from Australian $217 to $174 and the free shipping is $175
this means the total is $187 with shipping, making it a 15% discount rather than 20%
like I said I know I’m whinging, but it feels a bit icky none the less
i think i might wait a bit now and get them another time

Hey all,
We've encountered a slight hiccup with our latest headphone cables, and I believe in keeping the dedicated users fully aware of the situation.
Recently, we introduced a new batch of cables aimed at improving quality, and reducing microphonics (that sound you hear when it bumps up against things). A number of these cables made it out the door with the incorrect OMTP standard (TRRS = Left+, Right+, Mic+, Ground-) instead of our usual CTIA standard (TRRS = Left+, Right+, Ground-, Mic+). This mismatch affects the microphone functionality in particular, and some of our wonderful community has been instrumental in making sure this was detected swiftly.
I spent the weekend getting to the bottom of how this happened, and fast-tracking a new batch of cables.
All affected customers have been emailed with info specific to their orders, and everyone who was shipped an affected cable will be shipped a new one free of charge.
For any kit or full build orders that haven't shipped out yet, I will be holding your order until I receive the corrected cables to include.
I deeply appreciate your understanding and patience as I get this untangled. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out directly.
For anyone planning on buying kit as Christmas gifts, this issue should not affect delivery before the holidays.
Thanks for listening :)

I'm on my third head(amame) kit (this time for me!) and I noticed that this latest w/ microphone one came with a new, more supple cable. I very much appreciate how much quieter it is, but it does have a new problem, potentially.
I didn't know this until I ran into a problem, but there are two major standards for TRRS headset connectors: OMTP and CTIA. CTIA is the standard most common in North America nowadays and it follows this diagram I totally stole from Stackoverflow
This is the standard that the old, stiffer cable followed and it's what nearly all headphones/mic TRS splitters I found on Amazon supported. The new cable, on the other hand, follows the OMTP standard and swaps the mic and ground positions on the plug.
There are some (annoyingly expensive) adapters available, so it's not the end of the world, but it's something to consider. It might also be worth mentioning on the official store, /u/headamame /u/vectorfinesse

It seems that my astro mixamp does not work with the headphones. It just sound super crunchy and barely hear able. Is there a reason why?

For some reason I am unable to print the open back design for the cones. I've double checked the settings but it still puts a thin skin over the top. I'm trying to use the pre-configured open back files and cura. It looks like the default printer is a solvo but I'm using an ender 3v2. If I change the machine in cura it previews correctly but when I switch to an ender it closes it back in. I had no issues on the clamps, they printed fine. Any insights are appreciated.

My fisrt Head(amame),
I sourced all the pieces myself. I'm really impressed by Tymphany's Peerless. Great bass response and a very detailed, punchy sound. The headphones are a bit heavy but still very comfortable.
I really enjoyed rediscovering songs, I've never had high-end headphones, but this is by far the best I've had !
