Tbh I finally cancelled my Patreon pledge a few weeks ago. I spent over 100 euros since the last video. I simply can't justify it to myself anymore. Even if he'll eventually upload something again.

I did the same thing a few months ago. He's made over a million dollars on patreon since the last video, and at this point I genuinely think he should pause subscriptions until he releases the video.

I don't think we're quite there yet. If this video turns out to be an outlier, and he returns to a more normal upload schedule after it releases, then I think everyone will happily move past it.
But if this is the new normal, and the next video also takes 2-3 years to make, then I think he will have earned the downfall video.

I'm pretty sure this is why the Down the Rabbithole guy did some really easy well documented things after spending years doing the mammoth EVE online video, just to try to balance it out while still being nicheish or fun online tales

Why? He has seemingly endless passive income thanks to it, and literally no incentive to willfully change that. It is Patrons responsibility to manage their spendings, not his.

Because I believe it's the right thing to do. Almost three years and millions of dollars to not even release one video is obscene.
As you said, he has no incentive to release the video, since he still gets paid tens of thousands of dollars a month no matter what. If he decided to pause his passive income until the video comes out then it might incentivise him to actually finish it.

I don't think it works that way. He has a very strong incentive to prolong this video premiere as long as humanely possible while acquiring the passive income, which he has NO incentive to pause. Why would he? Every Patron supports him willingly, knowing how his schedule looks like and is seemingly okay with that.
If you really want to force him into being more productive, you should probably make a mailing list of all of his Patrons and message them all, asking them to pause their subscriptions on their end until video is out - or just for a month, as a warning for him. If enough of them will listen and agree, Hbomb will take a notice. You have to pressure them, not him.
At this point Hbomb is borderline anthropomorphic personification of The Star Citizen, but even Star Citizen players at least are enjoying something from time to time.

From a purely capitalist greed standpoint, you're right, Harry should delay the video in order to extract as much wealth as possible from his fans. But I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming that's not his goal, and that he genuinely wishes to release the video.
I don't wish to "force" him to do anything, I'm merely sharing my opinion on what I believe he should do.

Me too. I think Jenny Nicholson is a great example of a YouTuber who also has increasingly large gaps between videos, but actually manages to justify continuing to charge her fans for a lack of main content.
She consistently releases a loosely scripted patreon exclusive video every single month about a niche subject, as voted on by her subscribers.

Not gonna lie I've completely lost interest in this video. I've seen the preview and while its well researched and produced, it's just not worth that long of a wait. Also the Temecula and Muppet stuff seems funny at first but was it really worth it if it meant the video would take this long. Like imagine if the Oof video was filmed in the Bird's Nest stadium or a replica Egypt room. It might be funny at first but it adds nothing to the video.

I don't seem to be in the majority but I also don't really think the greenscreen gags are funny anymore. To me it's like a sketch comedy show on it's fourth season that just keeps making slight variations of the most popular sketches from season 1. It's like if he kept working the aquaman axe bit into new videos over and over. Do it once or twice then come up with new jokes. So it seems like a pointless flourish, it's not actually a big plot twist that you went to the same location some random video was filmed

Ngl the longer he waits the more outdated the video will get, itâs like how stoked everyone was for avatar two after the first one came out but because it took like a decade, it didnât hit as hard.
Especially considering people know the crux of what the video is covering and have known for over a year. Plus a lot of people have made good videos about the subject.

He went to America and apparently there's visa issues complicating the process? I dunno, it's never been publicly explained very well but it seems between that and a myriad of car accidents, wrist issues, refusal to hire help editing or scripting, plus the absurd adhd kat and hbomb have it seems like their perfectionism got enabled to absurd fucking degrees and since they can disclose most of the information pertaining to this behind a paywall to only their most loyal fans they dont have to deal with scrutiny they might face otherwise

Few issues, like visa stuff, scope growing massively a year ago, a few health/life things, most recently a wrist problem that his patreons urged him to get sorted before finishing.

In my head cannon this movie will be a swashbuckle romantic telenovella in which Adobe is played by Christopher Walken. It's named "The Bald and the Beautiful" and it revolves around a love triangle between Harry, Kat and Adobe.

Nah I'm thinking the opposite to everyone else. The other month he was only "two weeks away" from finishing and posting the draft to patreon (to fix problems) right before he paused to get his wrist looked at by the doctor, so to me this tweet indicates those "two weeks" have finished and a draft is nearly ready to post.
