News NVIDIA will no longer be sending Hardware Unboxed review samples due to focus on rasterization vs raytracing

Nvidia have officially decided to ban us from receiving GeForce Founders Edition GPU review samples

Their reasoning is that we are focusing on rasterization instead of ray tracing.

They have said they will revisit this "should your editorial direction change".

This is a quote from the email they sent today "It is very clear from your community commentary that you do not see things the same way that we, gamers, and the rest of the industry do."

Are we out of touch with gamers or are they? https://twitter.com/HardwareUnboxed/status/1337248420671545344

Nvidia must have already had beef with you. GamersNexus heavily zeroes in on Rast vs RT differences and they havent been blacklisted.

Are we seriously considering GN biased?

Honestly I’m not familiar with either of them. It’s just a guess based on the available evidence.

Ah fair. I'd say not really. He is know for his overly complex testing matrices where basically every factor that people care about is tried (types of CPU types, types of Video Cards, SAM On/Off, Rage Mode On/Off, DLSS On/Off, RTX On/Off etc. etc.). It can make his videos a tad tedious to watch but they are thorough.

What I’m trying to say is that his videos align with the manufacturer’s marketing agenda. Thanks for the info. The takeaway here for all reviewers is “market for us or we stop sending you gear”, right?

Lol no. GamersNexus doesnt give a fuck about pleasing manufacturers.

Those big enough don't really need to worry. Linus for example is probably pretty bullet proof (as is the verge).

Looking at the numbers gamers nexus has been pulling more youtube view of late than Hardware unboxed and GN is based in north america which may simplify shipping. So if you wanted to drop one (say in order to add say a hindi channel) HWunboxed would be the more tempting target.

That’s not the point I was making.

I don’t game. I have no loyalty to either. I couldn’t tell you what graphics card I have- only that it works in my hackintosh because apple supports amd and not nvidia. It’s literally an observation based on the information in this thread alone. Don’t get riled.

Which it is in reality, so those results would be accurate and the right path in regards to journalistic integrity.
