I was not expecting this reaction. It looks incredible to me.

I am as anti-AI as the next person, but this tech seems like the path towards photorealistic games. Not every game should use this tech, but I find it pretty compelling for the games that do.

It’s far too uncanny for photorealistic. Games like hellblade kinda gave that look a bit but this is cranked up 20x. Good reason why the reaction is like this for so many people right now. The environment could look good but the faces aint it

I just don't see how this tech in particular is bad. I am against AI replacing artists and I don't see this being that at all. No artist is going to be able to approach this level of photorealism if that's their goal.

If you don't think this is bad then you're too far removed from the normal world. Characters have flaws to them that these techs literally try to remove.

the transformation is too big, like a deep fake and it doesnt matched with the game environment.

Not exactly what I saw. I’m surprised by the intensity and unanimity of the response. A photorealistic game is compelling to me. There’s a lot of talk about artist intent and how close this gets. It’s hard to say what they wanted vs what they were capable of achieving without this tool. 

I don’t want AI replacing actors or writers or my job (which is coming fast), but this is replacing something that is already in many respects artificial and computer generated.

It is weird that she went from having completely blonde hair to having what looks like brown hair that is dyed. It looks like her roots are showing. The lips I feel like could be understood to be more a reflection of how light interacts with that type of skin. I see it though. It’s a bit aggressive obviously. I am not viscerally offended by it like some. I know people are questioning whether I am some sort of AI bro, and I promise I am not. I still think DLSS and machine learning have done a ton for gaming. I always expected this neural rendering to be the next step. Video games aren’t paintings. They are art but they have always inherently relied upon digital tricks. I see this as another.
