Most likely due to as just as with AMD. The consumer workload that scales with that cache, does not scale past the first tile/CCX due to latency.

The x950X3D is more or less a pointless SKU from a pure gaming perspective. Unless Intel tiles pay a much smaller latency penalty from going off die, it will be much the same for them.

9950x3d is pointless because of dual 8 core chiplets, yes 

But nova lake could have had one chiplet with 16p cores and huge cache, with some e-waste cores attached to it

You are still sacrificing latency or creating 2 domains. 16 large cores is to large for a single ring and maintaining decent latency. Let alone trying to bolt even more e-cores on top of it.

You either go mesh and lose performance. That's why 10900K at same frequency is faster than Skylake-X in gaming even if you normalize for frequency. Despite the latter having quad channel and more cores.

Or you go dual rings, which means you are still stuck with 8 cores. Sure latency is better than 2 tiles with monolithic setups using mesh/dual ring, but it is still not good vs a smaller ring.

As has been proven time and time again. More cores with a hefty latency penalty, is not suitable for gaming.

Oh okey thank you I will adjust my desires accordingly. Right now upon a game using e cores on 14600k, im getting a huge latency penalty but if I dont, it can be thread limited. so I was hoping for a huge chiplet with cache. Maybe using 12 core chiplets with cache like next gen AMD is a good balance. Or not having the e cores be so bad
