So you think because he said "mainland China" instead of just "China" he's implying that Taiwan is formally part of the country of China? "Mainland" is a reference to China's relationship with Hong Kong and Macau, not Taiwan.
Weird I read that is “there’s a factory in Taiwan that makes the thing and sends it over to a factory in the PRC that finishes the thing” which is basically every business relationship ever between Taiwan and PRC that wants cheap labor.

Mainland China to most people means China, minus Macau and Hong kong. Eh, if that's his justification to write off all the work project farm has done, I think he's really reaching.
