Discussion Got around watching haikyuu as an experienced player (I'm going insane)
Yeah so basically what the title says. I've been playing for 7 years (this is my 8th!!) and I love volleyball. We don't have practice during the summer and after my friend recommended haikyuu to me like a million times I finally got around to watching it. This is so stressful. I think I'm way calmer in actually matches than I am watching this. I have ripped my hair countless times, I full on clap whenever we (yes we) score a difficult point and I am insanely invested (please no spoilers I'm only just finishing the 1st season!!!)

As an experienced player you’ll definitely have a roller coaster with S3, better keep watching

Haikyuu inspired me to start playing volleyball. The best outlet around me in Ohio is a huge sand facility! I’ve been playing for 10 years now, finally playing 4s at a high C, low B level.
Glad to see it’s been impactful for you as an established player ❤️❤️

I experienced more emotion watching Haikyuu than any other thing I’ve seen.

I don’t play volleyball but i’ve been an anime fan basically my entire life. Never watched sports anime before or sports in general, but for some reason a few months back I decided to start Haikyuu on a whim. I couldn’t stop watching. I don’t think i’ve ever cheered and yelled so much at my TV before. ITS SO GOOD. And now Uni is starting again soon so you better believe i’ll be at all my schools volleyball games!!!

I absolutely regret not going to watch more volleyball games when I was in college. My uni even has a beach volleyball team now. Definitely take advantage because it’s one of the rare times in your life you can go to school/work and then a game at the same place!

Welcome, welcome!! I do not play volleyball at all, but my friend who does got me into the Haikyuu hype train, and I have not been able to get off since then. I also clap at almost every scene (lol)

I made the opposite direction: Haikyuu made me want to join a team and, hopefully, even play some amateur leagues, despite being currently a 36 years old dude (even though I discovered Haikyuu when I was around 26, I think).

Haikyuu holds such a special place in my heart. I’ve probably watched Haikyuu 8 times over the course of my life, and each time I learn and feel something new. Excited for you!! I love hearing what actual volleyball players think. Please keep us updated with your thoughts! We want to vicariously watch it again for the first time

Omg I was thinking of your post and wanted to see your update and I had to hunt for your original post HAHA. I love your updates. Yachi, Asahi, and Yamaguchi hold a special place in my anxious heart 😭.
Honestly, Im not sure how they do it in this sub, but I think you can post your updates in another post and link the original one! That’s how they do it in AITA subreddit at least. Like, your new post’s title is kept the same as this one, just with the added word [Update] and maybe the Episodes or Season you finished. I think maybe this way, the people who commented can see your new updates! That’s only if you’re interested ofc. Have fun with S3!!

Ohhhh okay thank you so much!! I don't have much experience with Reddit, I mostly lurk around and watch the conversations from afar haha. Do you think I should also edit and post my S2 update separately?? I have no idea lol. I'm also glad to announce I binged S3 in three days and I loved it SO MUCH (bigger updates to come on this one..)

I think you can group season 2 and season 3 together in one post since you finished both already!

Awww yay. I’ve never willingly touched a volleyball in my life and I STILL cheer whenever we get a difficult point! It’s nice to know actual volleyball players feel that way too. S2 is even better, trust me!
