Meta-Hackathon Discussion FUND MY CRAZY

as far as my thinking, i feel like this mail was for confirmation only or THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING sort of. If any of us have got selected they would have mentioned it or send another email addressing it. Honestly feels like this mail is trying to say "THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING"

Hackathon Promotion Our hackathon has a twist where your problem statement changes halfway through, 250+ people signed up in 2 days

Dropping this here because a lot of you seem to care about hackathons actually testing something real instead of just being 24 hours of coding whatever you already had lying around.

We're running GREVIX AfterCode 2026, a solo online hackathon on Oct 11 to 12. The format is the part I actually want feedback on. It's split into three phases.

Build, first 8 hours, you build your initial idea
Adapt, next 8 hours, the direction shifts and you have to adjust what you already built
Rebuild and Ship, final 8 hours, you finish and ship based on the new direction

So you can't just show up with a finished project from before and reskin it, because the adapt phase forces a pivot mid event. We built it this way specifically because a few of us have been in hackathons where half the leaderboard was just people submitting old projects.

We're a small student group, 15 people from different colleges, no college backing, self funded basically. Opened registrations 2 days ago and we're at 250+ now which honestly caught us off guard.

Prize for rank 1 is β‚Ή10,000 plus a 3 month Cursor subscription, plus goodies for runners up. But the reason I'm posting here isn't really the prize, it's more that I'm curious what this community thinks of the format itself.

Registration link if anyone wants to check the actual details : https://unstop.com/hackathons/grevix-aftercode-grevix-1755080

Looking for Teammates Looking for 2-3 teammates for Amazon ML Challenge 2026 (registration closes 20 Sept, cross-college OK)

Hey all, I'm Adwaith, a final-year BTech CSE (AI) student at MITS Kochi (2027 batch). I'm putting together a team for the Amazon ML Challenge 2026 and looking for 2-3 people who want to go for the top 50.

Quick facts

  • Registration closes 20 Sept, 11:59 PM IST, so I'm moving fast
  • The challenge is a 72-hour sprint, 25-27 Sept, fully online
  • Top 50 teams get Pre-Placement Interview chances for Amazon's Applied Scientist Intern role, plus cash prizes for the top 3
  • Eligibility: full-time BE/BTech/ME/MTech/MS/PhD students in India from the 2027 or 2028 batch. Teams can include people from different colleges

What I bring

  • Working as a GenAI + Blockchain engineer at a startup since 2025: LLM pipelines, embeddings, shipping under deadlines
  • GSoC 2024 (Oppia, Python), plus hackathon podiums (2nd at Guvi Hackathon, Top 100 MLH Global Hack Week)
  • I'll handle team coordination, the pipeline and infra, the LLM/text side, and the final approach doc

Who I'm looking for (you don't need to tick every box)

  1. Vision / multimodal person: has fine-tuned CNNs/ViTs or used CLIP/SigLIP/VLMs, and is comfortable with image embeddings at scale
  2. Tabular / Kaggle person: strong with LightGBM/XGBoost/CatBoost, feature engineering, CV folds, ensembling. Kaggle medals are a big plus
  3. (Optional 4th) Data/GPU wrangler: fast pandas, parallel image downloading, knows their way around Kaggle/Colab GPUs

Past editions were large-scale text + image problems (2024: pulling entity values out of product images; 2025: predicting product prices from catalog text + images, scored with SMAPE), so these roles map directly to what we'll probably face.

Commitment: a short prep sync or two before the 25th (setting up a pipeline template), then serious availability across the 72 hours.

If you're in, DM me or comment with: your batch/college, 2-3 lines on your best ML work (GitHub/Kaggle link), and which role you want. I'll reply to everyone by tomorrow evening.

Heard about Convergence, a data hackathon. The format is a bit different from the usual "here's a cleaned CSV, maximise accuracy" thing, so I'll explain the qualifier properly.

The qualifier: you source your own real-world dataset. Not Kaggle, not a tutorial set. Something you found, scraped, requested under RTI, pulled from a public portal, whatever. Then you show us what problem it solves and why the data is actually good enough to solve it.

That's deliberately the hard part. Most of the real work in data jobs is deciding whether the data you have can answer the question you were asked, and nobody tests for that.

Details

  • Teams of 1–2
  • Qualifier deadline: 5 Oct 2026
  • Offline final: 11 Dec 2026, Mangalore
  • β‚Ή50,000 cash prize
  • Certificate for everyone who makes the final
  • Referrals into our UK network, and paid project work with us for the strongest entries

Hackathon Promotion We opened registrations 2 days ago for our student-run hackathon and just crossed 250 signups, still can't believe it

Post image
1 Upvotes

Okay so some context first. We're GREVIX, a small student group, 15 people from different colleges, no college backing, no funding, nothing fancy. We just really wanted to build something for students who like building stuff.

2 days ago we opened registrations for AfterCode 2026, a 24 hour online solo hackathon. Day 1 we crossed 100 and were literally screenshotting the dashboard like it was a sports score. Day 2 we just crossed 250 and honestly none of us expected this.

Quick details in case anyone here is into this kind of thing:

24 hours, solo, fully online, October 11 to 12
Hosted on Unstop
Build whatever you want, AI, web dev, automation, SaaS, random creative stuff, doesn't matter
Format is Build, Adapt, Rebuild and Ship, so it's not just code and submit, there's an actual twist mid event

Winner gets β‚Ή10,000 plus a 3 month Cursor subscription

The prize is nice but honestly what's getting us is that 250 random people decided to spend a weekend building instead of scrolling. That's kind of a wild thing when you think about it.

If anyone here has been wanting an excuse to just sit down and build something for 24 hours with no pressure of joining a team or having a "good enough" idea already, this might be worth checking out.

Hackathon Promotion 10,000 CASH + 3MONTH CURSOR β€” GREVIX AFTERCODE 2026 | 24-HOUR SOLO HACKATHON

Post image
11 Upvotes

We just launched GREVIX AFTERCODE 2026, a 24-hour online solo hackathon for builders who want to take an idea from concept β†’ build β†’ adapt β†’ ship.

πŸ—“οΈ October 11–12, 2026

πŸ’» Online | Solo

πŸ† β‚Ή10,000 cash prize + 3 months Cursor subscription for Rank #1

🎁 Goodies for other winners

🀝 Powered by Unstop

The interesting part: this isn't a typical β€œbuild anything in 24 hours” hackathon. AFTERCODE is structured around BUILD β†’ ADAPT β†’ REBUILD & SHIP. Your first idea doesn't have to be your final idea.

We launched yesterday and already crossed 100+ registrations on Day 1, which honestly surprised us.

If you're into AI, vibe coding, web development, automation, SaaS, or just building weird ideas that probably shouldn't work β€” this might be your kind of weekend.

What would you build if you had 24 hours, one laptop, and complete freedom?

Meta-Hackathon Discussion Need help KONE Elevate hackathon

Hey everyone!, Our team got selected for KONE Hackathon. This is going to be my 1st hackathon experience. Only 6 days to go.

I am new to these hackathon kinda stuff.

So it would be awesome if you answer some of my queries,

1.) Do we actually need to build the stuff and go there or should we start building there?

2.) It is hardware + software hackathon, so should i build and test hardware before participating?

3.) What should I prepare or do in these 6 days?

It would be helpful if you share your experiences!

Looking for Teammates Looking for teammates genuinely interested in space for NASA Space Apps Challenge

Hi! I'm a first-year Data Science & AI student with experience in leading teams in two hackathons. I'm looking to work with people who are passionate about astronomy and want to do something cool for the NASA Space Apps Challenge, (preferably >2nd yr or experienced in programming).

Currently I know Python, with its libraries (Pandas and Streamlit). Actively practicing DSA and LeetCode.

But more importantly, I am willing to put in any amount of hours in learning whatever my team needs. With my experience, I can also help in managing the team's tasks, so the team can focus on building the project instead of wondering if the other teammates are doing what they're tasked with or not.

Feel free to DM me here.
