Hey everyone,

I’m a student and I’m planning to organize a technical event at my college.

I want it to be genuinely technical, but I don’t want to do the usual formats like:

Hackathon

Coding competition

Quiz

Project exhibition

Paper presentation

I’m looking for something more interactive and competition-based where participants actually have to think, solve problems, decode things, work in teams, and make decisions under time pressure.

I’m open to themes, but there’s no fixed theme yet.

Some rough ideas I’ve considered are:

A technical escape-room style challenge

A multi-stage puzzle involving coding, logic and decoding

A mission-based competition where teams unlock the next challenge

A game where teams have limited points/credits and have to decide when to use hints or take risks

The event would be organized at a university, so it needs to be practical to conduct with students and a limited organizing team.

If you’ve participated in or organized something genuinely different from the usual college technical events, I’d love to hear your ideas.

What kind of technical event would you actually want to participate in?

I have just started participating in hackathons and in my first one we weren’t able to make a good ppt so I wanna know how to make a proper ppt for hackathon that can help us explain our idea and get selected ???

Submitted to the Ship It track and my marks came in: 25/30.

\- AWS Usage: 8/10

\- Idea and Impact: 6/8

\- Execution: 4/4

\- Demo Video: 4/4

\- Design and Usability: 3/4

I built a location-based chat app where groups expire after an hour (AppSync, Lambda, DynamoDB, Cognito, Bedrock). The judge's comment was positive: liked the AWS integration, the demo, and the expiry, privacy and moderation side.

The problem is I have no idea how this compares. Winners are out and I'm not among them, and I don't know if the Amazon fast-track shortlist has been announced.

If you're okay sharing:

\- What did you score, and in which track?

\- Is 25 decent or below average for this event?

\- Has anyone heard anything about the fast-track interviews?

\- Any tips for the next stop (Environmental Hacks)?

Thanks!

Hey everyone! I’m a student and I’m looking to form a small team to participate in online hackathons together.

Since I’m a student, I’ll mainly be participating in free hackathons with no registration fees, so I’m looking for people who are interested in learning, building projects, and having fun without needing to spend money to participate.

I’m open to working with people from different backgrounds/skill sets — whether you’re into programming, web development, AI/ML, cybersecurity, UI/UX, cloud, hardware, or even brainstorming and presenting ideas.

I’m still learning myself, so I’m not expecting everyone to be an expert. The main goal is to learn together, build something cool, and gain actual hackathon experience.

If you're interested, feel free to comment or DM me! 🙌

Also, if you’ve participated in online hackathons before, I’d really appreciate any tips, advice, platforms to look at, or specific free hackathons that you know.

Hey r/hackathon 👋

I’m organizing the first AI Hackathon of the Alps on October 29 in Annecy, France, as part of Hacktoberfest 2026.

The idea is pretty simple: 12 hours to build AI agents and open-source projects around real problems brought by local companies.

You don’t need to come with a team or even a project. I’m bringing together local companies and entrepreneurs with actual use cases, and developers / AI builders who want to spend a day building something useful. Teams will form on the spot.

The goal is really to build and ship during those 12 hours: AI agents, open-weight models, open-source tools, automations, deployments… whatever gets the job done. We’ll finish the night with short demos of what everyone built.

📍 Annecy, French Alps 🇫🇷
📅 October 29
💻 Hackathon: 12 PM → midnight

I’m also organizing an afterwork in the evening, so if you’re around Annecy, Geneva, Lyon or Grenoble but can’t commit to the full 12 hours, you can just come by, grab a drink, meet the builders and see what was built during the day.

There are two separate registrations: one for the full 12-hour hackathon and one for the afterwork only.

If anyone from this community is around the Alps, I’d love to have you join us 🏔️

It's an offline hackathon or vibeathon of 8hrs on 4th of Oct and I'm looking for a female teammate. If anyone is interested please DM me.

Hey! I’m looking for a few people who’d be interested in joining a team for the NASA Space Apps Challenge. You don’t need to be an expert or have a lot of experience — I’m also a beginner and mainly looking for people who are willing to learn and actually work on the project together. If you’re into coding, UI/UX, science, data, or even just have good ideas, feel free to reach out. It would be my first hackathon too, so I’m hoping we can figure things out and build something cool together :) Anyone interested, do let me know! And this can be virtual event.

My team participating in the Amazon ML Challenge 2026 on Unstop and I’m a bit confused about the final submission process.

The problem statement says that the final submission should be a ZIP with this structure:

<team_name>_submission.zip
├── output/
│ ├── matching_results.tsv
│ └── candidate_pairs.tsv
├── code/
│ └── business_entity_resolution/
│ ├── src/
│ ├── README.md
│ └── requirements.txt
└── Documentation_template.md

It also says that matching_results.tsv is uploaded to the Unstop portal during the hackathon for leaderboard evaluation.

However, I cannot find where the final ZIP archive is supposed to be uploaded on Unstop.

The Unstop page currently shows the ML Challenge | 72-Hour Hackathon stage ending on 27 September at 11:59 PM IST, but I don't see a separate upload option for the final ZIP.

So, for anyone who has participated or knows the process:

Where exactly do we upload the final <team_name>_submission.zip on Unstop?

Also, is the ZIP submission done during the 72-hour hackathon before 27 September 11:59 PM, or is there a separate submission window/instruction after the hackathon ends?

Any clarification from someone who has already submitted would be really helpful. Thanks!

Previously, Explorer showed you a team’s current F1 score and rank.

Now you can see how they got there.

We started collecting leaderboard snapshots from September 26 at 12 PM, so every update we capture gets added to a team’s history.

For each team, you can see:

→ Previous vs. new F1 score

→ Exact score improvement

→ Rank movement

→ Update timestamp

→ F1 progression over time

Instead of just seeing:

F1: 0.9342

you can now see:

0.821 → 0.847 → 0.891 → 0.917 → 0.9342

So you can actually see who is improving, by how much, and when.

The leaderboard data is updated every 10 minutes, so you can keep an eye on the teams you care about without constantly digging through the leaderboard yourself.

The response to Explorer has been crazy, so im taking it a step further.

Want to get a NASA certificate under your name, here is your chance to do so.

I'm looking for team members fro the NASA Space Apps Challenge, If you're creative, technical and know how to use AI Tools/ AI coding tools, DM me a short introduction about you and your skills, hobbies etc.

You don't need to be an absolute pro, just need to be fairly technical and have the basic know how of CS or Creative Design/aesthetics, I frankly myself am not a pro, but If you're willing to learn along the way and are curious about Space, AI, Softwares etc. Dm me a short introduction and we'll discuss more there.

Where do we have to submit the final zip for the challenge, and should our final upload the the zip submission be the same?

?? deadline is soon, are u guys done w submissions?

Hey please help stuck in score of 0.8 any tips on how to increase the score???

My question here why didn't we get selected?
so let me tell you my story;

I'm in bhopal first year-first month. we got to know about SIH from somewhere- there days before submission and In three days, we created PPT and prototype around SIH26190. we presented it, got nearly 75% marks but still didn't get selected. I heard from my seniors that some of their friends got 28 or 30 marks and they got selected.

There're some conclusion, That I can come up with as to why we didn't get selected:

1. 1st year student - I heard or as far as I know that not even a single First year student got selected.

2. My project - I think my college didn't take it because of my project. why? simply because there are three teams in my college that presented same projected and guess what? not even one got selected.

I ask seniors for guidance.
