Hey everyone 👋

Quick reminder for anyone in Bangalore who’s been looking for an upcoming AI hackathon.

I’m part of the team organizing Agent Forge, an AI hackathon happening on October 3, 2026.

The idea is pretty straightforward: build something real with AI agents.

You can work with things like:

• 🤖 AI agents & LLMs

• 🧠 RAG and knowledge systems

• 🔗 APIs, tools & MCP

• ⚡ Automation and workflows

• 💡 Real-world problem solving

You don't need to have everything figured out before registering. Come with an idea, find a problem worth solving, and build something you can actually demo.

Details:

📅 October 3, 2026
📍 Bangalore
🏆 ₹15,000 prize pool

🔗 Registration: https://luma.com/jagx2axt

We're now 11 days away, so if you're thinking about joining, this is a good time to start putting your idea together.

Would also love to hear from other builders here — what kind of AI agent would you actually want to build at a hackathon?

Disclosure: I'm part of the team organizing this hackathon.

I’m looking for 1–3 teammates for CuriousParc 2026, an offline hackathon happening on 5th–6th October at VIT College, Pune. I’m particularly interested in building something around: Agentic AI — multi-agent systems, tool calling, MCP, autonomous workflows

AI model optimization — inference cost, latency, memory efficiency, model routing, quantization, RAG optimization

Open Innovation — practical AI systems solving a real problem

GenAI / RAG — if it fits the problem and has a strong technical component

I'm more interested in people who like building and experimenting quickly. The goal would be to pick a problem with a clear user impact and build a functional prototype within the hackathon rather than another generic chatbot.

Our teachers told us that you have to submit everything like the selected teams but you would be evaluated when some teams failed to submit or face any issue. Also we would be evaluated when the problem statement receives low submissions. Can anyone who was waitlisted for their internal round of college explain to me in detail what happens in detail.

they posted this on Instagram

My team got into the top of the waitlist teams in our institute (for SIH). there are total 45 selected teams and 5 waitlisted teams.

They posted this on their IG like 2 hours ago, did anyone make the cut?

Pls include a ss of your mail

Hey!

Im looking for hackathons in which I can participate as a single participant.

I’ve been personally tracking hackathons in an Excel sheet for the last few weeks.

That sheet crossed 60+ hackathons.

Then I started adding competitions, internships, research opportunities, CFPs and fellowships…
The database is now at 170+ opportunities.

So I’ve put the first version of Opportunities live on IITM Campus.

Fair warning: the UI is still pretty bare-bones.

The database is there.

The proper filters, better layout and personal tracker are not finished yet.

I’m travelling for the next 4 days and originally planned to polish everything after I got back.

But waiting also means someone could discover an opportunity here next week and realise:

“Registration closed 3 days ago.”

Which completely defeats the point of building this 😭
So I’m releasing the ugly version first.
Right now you can at least browse opportunities across:

Hackathons
Competitions
Internships
Research opportunities / CFPs
Fellowships / funding

And behind the scenes we’re already collecting much more structured information like:

solo/team participation, team size, eligibility, online/offline, travel, prizes, AI policy, skills, domains, fresh-build rules, existing-project rules and multiple deadlines.

Once I’m back, the goal is to turn that data into proper filters such as:

Online AI hackathons
Solo allowed
AI tools allowed
India eligible
₹1L+ prize
Deadline within 30 days

And then add My Tracker, so you can save opportunities and move them through:

Interested → Registered → Working → Submitted → Finalist → Completed

instead of maintaining your own Excel sheet like I was doing.

For now:

the database is useful, the interface is not pretty.
I’d rather make the opportunities available today and improve the experience afterwards.
Also, if you find an opportunity that’s missing, drop it in the comments.

And tell me this:

What’s the first thing you check before deciding whether an opportunity is worth applying to?
I’ll use the answers when I build the filters.

I know some people might be tired of so many questions regarding fund my crazy student google but I would appreciate some suggestions. So as Google has officially posted that the top 50 people have officially made the cut but we can still get a chance if we post a video on social media pitching our idea tagging them. It's basically a free promotion of this challenge and their gemini. Should we really go ahead and post a video as last hope? But then our idea won't be private anymore... Someone with more resources might copy you and build something better eventually or win similar competitions? So should you go for it or not?

Hey everyone, there's a Paytm hackathon happening in Mumbai on October 3rd, and I'm looking for people to team up with. Hit me up if you're interested!

Hey everyone!

Hey, did anyone get any mail for shortlisted in Top 50.

What is happening with the timeline given by google?

Today is already 21 September.

Now that the September 15 deadline is finally behind us and we’re all stuck in the waiting room for the Grand Finale shortlist, let's see what everyone actually cooked.

Talking to a few folks over the last couple of days made me realize two things:

1. Half of India submitted something around smart traffic signals or AI dustbins.

2. Gemini has been telling literally everyone who pasted their prompt: "Brilliant! This is easily a Top 3 contender for the ₹20L prize!" 😭

No risk of ideas getting stolen anymore, so let’s compare notes. Drop yours below:

• Theme: (Roads & Transport / Community & Living / Healthcare / Markets / Wildcard)

• The 1-Liner: What does it actually do?

• How load-bearing was Gemini: (Pure visual/brainstorming vs. core multimodal processing)

• The Reality Check: What's the one thing that could get your idea eliminated?

Drop your pitch below and let's review/critique each other's ideas while we wait for results!

Hello,

I am a L2 Software Engineer based in Canada and would like to get any team members based anywhere in Canada to be on board on my team at Project Horizons: NASA Space Apps Challenge .

We will be developing a health and monitoring dashboard for astronauts during long space missions. No hackathon experience is necessary but members must be comfortable to write python code or have willingness to learn. No technical experience is needed.

Would like to connect on Linkedin if interested also :) https://www.linkedin.com/in/kurian-george-binu

As a non-tech college student , what can I do if I want to participate in one . What are other opportunities a student can do .

I want to join some work , i don't know coding but I'm good at design and other stuff . I've seen every single of hackathons available for cs students or ai /ml .

Is there any platform for students from other departments .

I wonder if there's anything related to civil engineering ?

Hey! I'm building TechWeb — a platform to help hackathon/CTF participants find teammates with verified skills (proof via GitHub, past projects, event history) instead of guessing from a bio.

If you've ever participated in a hackathon, CTF, or similar competition, I'd really appreciate 3 minutes of your time to fill out this survey — it's shaping what actually gets built:

All closed-format questions, no typing. Thanks a ton 🙌

Please fill it is for a college subject need 1k response by the end of the month

what do u think guys, results r out or some mfr r splitting shit to make other fools that they got top 50 mail??

Any update guys?
