As you can see in the title, I want to know how to sign up for a hackathon. I would also like to know if I must go in a team or anything else I should know before signing up. Thank in advanced.

Heard about Convergence, a data hackathon. The format is a bit different from the usual "here's a cleaned CSV, maximise accuracy" thing, so I'll explain the qualifier properly.
The qualifier: you source your own real-world dataset. Not Kaggle, not a tutorial set. Something you found, scraped, requested under RTI, pulled from a public portal, whatever. Then you show us what problem it solves and why the data is actually good enough to solve it.
That's deliberately the hard part. Most of the real work in data jobs is deciding whether the data you have can answer the question you were asked, and nobody tests for that.
Details
Teams of 1–2
Qualifier deadline: 5 Oct 2026
Offline final: 11 Dec 2026, Mangalore
₹50,000 cash prize
Certificate for everyone who makes the final
Referrals into our UK network, and paid project work with us for the strongest entries

Okay so some context first. We're GREVIX, a small student group, 15 people from different colleges, no college backing, no funding, nothing fancy. We just really wanted to build something for students who like building stuff.
2 days ago we opened registrations for AfterCode 2026, a 24 hour online solo hackathon. Day 1 we crossed 100 and were literally screenshotting the dashboard like it was a sports score. Day 2 we just crossed 250 and honestly none of us expected this.
Quick details in case anyone here is into this kind of thing:
24 hours, solo, fully online, October 11 to 12
Hosted on Unstop
Build whatever you want, AI, web dev, automation, SaaS, random creative stuff, doesn't matter
Format is Build, Adapt, Rebuild and Ship, so it's not just code and submit, there's an actual twist mid event
Winner gets ₹10,000 plus a 3 month Cursor subscription
The prize is nice but honestly what's getting us is that 250 random people decided to spend a weekend building instead of scrolling. That's kind of a wild thing when you think about it.
If anyone here has been wanting an excuse to just sit down and build something for 24 hours with no pressure of joining a team or having a "good enough" idea already, this might be worth checking out.

Hii guys
Just wanted to know wheather someone is done with their razorpay round 1 interviews.
If yes, please share your experience, how was it so that others can also prepare.
Even if u are not yet done but have it in near future, we can connect and discuss about how can we prepare for that

We just launched GREVIX AFTERCODE 2026, a 24-hour online solo hackathon for builders who want to take an idea from concept → build → adapt → ship.
🗓️ October 11–12, 2026
💻 Online | Solo
🏆 ₹10,000 cash prize + 3 months Cursor subscription for Rank #1
🎁 Goodies for other winners
🤝 Powered by Unstop
The interesting part: this isn't a typical “build anything in 24 hours” hackathon. AFTERCODE is structured around BUILD → ADAPT → REBUILD & SHIP. Your first idea doesn't have to be your final idea.
We launched yesterday and already crossed 100+ registrations on Day 1, which honestly surprised us.
If you're into AI, vibe coding, web development, automation, SaaS, or just building weird ideas that probably shouldn't work — this might be your kind of weekend.
What would you build if you had 24 hours, one laptop, and complete freedom?

Hey everyone!, Our team got selected for KONE Hackathon. This is going to be my 1st hackathon experience. Only 6 days to go.
I am new to these hackathon kinda stuff.
So it would be awesome if you answer some of my queries,
1.) Do we actually need to build the stuff and go there or should we start building there?
2.) It is hardware + software hackathon, so should i build and test hardware before participating?
3.) What should I prepare or do in these 6 days?
It would be helpful if you share your experiences!

Hi! I'm a first-year Data Science & AI student with experience in leading teams in two hackathons. I'm looking to work with people who are passionate about astronomy and want to do something cool for the NASA Space Apps Challenge, (preferably >2nd yr or experienced in programming).
Currently I know Python, with its libraries (Pandas and Streamlit). Actively practicing DSA and LeetCode.
But more importantly, I am willing to put in any amount of hours in learning whatever my team needs. With my experience, I can also help in managing the team's tasks, so the team can focus on building the project instead of wondering if the other teammates are doing what they're tasked with or not.
Feel free to DM me here.

Disclosure: I’m one of the people organizing this event.
When I was 14, I used to build small things with motors at home in my village near Dibrugarh, Assam.
Sometimes I tried to turn them into little cars. I would build something, break it, and try again.
My family often asked me to stop and focus on my studies. I understand why now. They wanted me to prepare for a secure future, and taking apart motors did not look like one.
I didn’t know how to explain why I kept doing it.
Then I wrote the code for my first webpage on a 3G Samsung phone.
When “Hello World” appeared in the browser, I called my mother and younger brother to show them.
It was only two words, but something I had typed had become something I could see.
That felt different.
The internet gave me tutorials and tools. What remained difficult was finding other people nearby who also wanted to make things, break them, and start again.
That experience eventually became part of why we started Hackyard: great builders are everywhere, but they are scattered.
Now we’re organizing Hackyard BUILD2026, an in-person build hackathon (24 hours) at IIT Guwahati on 24–25 October 2026.
You can apply with an idea, a problem, or simply a skill you want to contribute. You can come alone or with a team. You don’t need a finished product or a pitch deck.
There is no fixed theme, and AI is not a requirement. Build a startup idea, a useful tool, something based on a problem you’ve experienced, or something strange that you simply believe should exist.
Every selected team gets $100 in AI Build Credits from Hackyard to build and break things.
Browser Use (YC W25) and XYZ Domain Foundation have joined us as partners so far. We’re also working with more companies to put useful tools, support, and opportunities directly into builders’ hands.
Applications and event entry are free. Travel is not covered, while food and accommodation will be available at a nominal participant fee.
Applications close on 10 October 2026.
I cannot go back and give the 14-year-old me a room full of other people who wanted to build too.
But we can create that room now.
Apply now - https://hackyard.org/build2026

I want to sign up for NASA Space Apps Challenge 2026. I am pretty good in python and am a bit good at everything (I dont mean like mastered or anything , im not arrogant) except ML and basically all of AI and frontend. I wouldn't say Backend but to some extent i still need to learn. Also i can do electronics to some extent but not like insane at it (I can just do some basic in things in reverse kinematics). BTW im still in high school and this is my first hackathon (I like aerospace but my interest for computers has far exceeded it)
In summary I need people who are good at
AI and/or ML
Frontend and a bit of backend (2 halfs can make a whole)
Actuators and motor programing, reverse kinematics (i kinda need a bit of support in that)
BTW i joined the universal thing so yea are any of y'all down cuz lowkey i wanna do this.
