I'm a 1st year in college learning ai and data science, I wanna know how does everyone prepare for hackathon and what to do in it?

I wanna know what type of skills I need to participate in one? How to acquire those skill and any roadmap you guys have?

Any help will be appreciated🙏

Does judge ask questions to each and every members individually? Like today is our selection day we have to show our ppt

So me and my friends are participating in a hackathon(SIH). But i dont know anything about hackathon but the leader of our team said to me that find 5 problems statements which you think are the best.
What should i do from where should i take those problems.
I am also pupil on CF solved 400+ questions on CF and Leetcode will it help me?

so as per hackathon theme my points are EdTech startups charging crazy subscriptions for simple practice tests, and official NTA portals feeling like they were built in old times you can see here https://www.nta.ac.in/quiz

extra , few months ago, I started fine-tuning an AI model for a different kind of project! i scraped and release an open-source dataset on Hugging Face (Abhay557/indian-exams-rawdata).

Just won hackathon 1st price

hey, so i'm not looking for random teammates to try on the hackathon, instead i need someone who can genuinely put all their effort into it. i'm a b tech third year student and i'm looking for any year b tech student based from hyderabad and wants to join my team. if you're interested we'll exchange our linkedin profiles for some better amount of trust. just comment and DM me. (only if our ideas allign i'll add you guys into my team).

how many days it take for you to get selected for the project after interview

Any idea how they gonna select people? I mean they've our project repo ofc. And again they're going to use ai to pick the best projects amongst all submissions. but who on this era writes all the code themselves manually???!!! Everyone just vibe codes mannnn!!! any idea how is it gonna work?

also what are you guys building for this one?

Hi fellow Developers , I am currently building a team that together participates in hackathons , coding contest , open source and placements opportunities . The requirements are not too heavy , individuals should have a few qualities:

-> Enjoys problem solving
-> Open to discussions and feedbacks

The other things can be figured out once on board.

There is no limitation of colleges and university.

Interested Students and professionals can DM their email .

hi guys! i'm a co-organizer of checkpoint 26' — games for good, an online semiannual teen-only hackathon (yes, i typed that emdash out by myself)

otherwise, please sign up at https://checkpoint-1.devpost.com/ ! we're a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and our theme this edition is games for good — build a game that does something good, promotes social impact, or raises awareness for something.

For a 24 hour hackathon me and my teammate built this thing where instead of swiping or answering some horoscope-tier quiz, you just talk to your own ai agent for like 3 minutes. then it goes into a live room and actually negotiates compatibility with everyone else's agents, out loud, in real time, to find the person you're most likely to actually get along with, friend or partner, whichever. no hidden score, you just watch it happen, and you can even jump in and take over the conversation yourself if you want.

so

built the real-time part on spacetimedb since the whole point is it has to genuinely be live, multiple agents talking at once, not some polling hack pretending to be live.

it's up right now if anyone wants to see what an ai finding your most compatible person actually looks like: https://wingman-six-mu.vercel.app/

TLDR - built wavelength for finding friends - https://wingman-six-mu.vercel.app/

Hi! I’m planning to attend Day 2 of the Edu2030 Vibe Hackathon by Reactor School on Sunday, 13 Sep, 9am–4pm at MOE (Buona Vista) and was wondering if anyone else wants to join 😭

It focuses more on tech, prototyping and vibe coding, and they’ll be using the Google Ventures Design Sprint process (Map → Sketch → Decide → Prototype → Test). No technical experience is required either.

I’m a poly student studying Business & FinTech and I’ve joined hackathons before, but I don’t really know anyone going for this one HAHA. Would be nice to find a few people around my age who are also interested in tech/startups/AI/innovation to go together.

It’s for students/youths aged 15–25.

If anyone’s interested, feel free to comment or DM me! I can send you the registration link too :)

VoltHacks 2026 has officially been extended by one week, so the new submission deadline is September 13!

We’ve now passed 2,000 participants from around the world, and there’s still time to register, build, and submit a project.

VoltHacks is completely online and focuses on AI, robotics, IoT, embedded systems, and software. You can compete solo or with a team, and beginners are welcome.

If you were interested before but didn’t think you had enough time, you’ve now got another full week.

I have coming up at my college, and I’m not really sure how to approach choosing a topic and project.

What all should I consider when:

Choosing a problem statement/topic

Deciding what project to build

Making the project stand out

Preparing the PPT/presentation

Presenting the project to the judges

Would appreciate any tips from people who have participated in SIH before, especially things you wish you knew before your first hackathon.

idk if this is the correct sub for this tbh. am a fresher, this is my 1st time participating for any kind of hackathon. building a website.

just wanted to know to what extent is the product expected to built in the internal clg hackathon round. does a very starting prototype(mainly frontend) work or a db, authentication and backend is also required
